Well BF, I must say your luck with cars redefines probability, given that overall, Japanese machines have a better history of reliability than American ones.
I hate ricers, really I do. Seeing a kid in a riced-out Honda is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me...but I do prefer Japanese cars and motorcycles overall.
My 88 Subaru 4WD hatch was unstoppable, all stock, with 150,000 miles on it. Not fast, but no slower than usual in a foot of snow either!
And my 2003 Suzuki Intruder 1400 (bought it new in 04, paid $7000 instead of 8500 for a new new one) rocks. I mean truly, wonderfully rocks. Has the rumble of the 1400 V-twin, but rides with the grace and agility that Japa-shaft-drives are famous for.
