i dunno about everyone else but im getting sick of hearing and seeing people talking smack about their 4 bangers with exhaust kits.....everyone thinks that imports and hondas are like the fastest cars ever, when my dad was growing up they had real cars like this one, and he laughs at people with riced out cars and basically imports in general, who else wishes we could bring back REAL cars?

i agree absolutley my dream car is a 1968 yenko camaro that would do circles around any tiny people transporter, but even so right now i have a 2003 f-250 with a powerstroke diesel that will run just about any rice burner with 5 of my closest friends in it while towin a 27 foot boat

I have nothing against american horsepower at all, I dont knock it one bit . . . looks good and sounds good!!! I myself am a Import Tuner. . . . . I love the fact that you can take something with half the cylinders and run as good, sometimes even better than american muscle. I mean come'on, honestly think about it rolling along the highway in your 2003 Camero Z28 and up pulls a 2000 civic si that you know is mod'ed out. Your rollin at bout 55mph you give him the sign and next thing < Skirt! Skirt! Zoom >. . . . . he's gone. All I would be able to think is "damn . . . . hes got something" . . . . I have goofed around on the highway messin with people that "I know" have something on me, but it cool as hell to see what they really got. . . . and yes I get stomped . . . . . .but it doest make me "hate" on them, even though they are like "get the fuck outta here Ricer"

Anyways . . . . . I feel a car fanatic is a car fanatic . . .if there wasnt something good about import tuning . . . I dont think it would exist . . . . .so pelase . . . . . dont hate

@ dub - totally agree, here in OZ we don't get any american made cars anyways, they are the imports. I mean we still have Ford and General motors (Holden). But for US american muscle cars are just too big and waste a lot of fuel. I personally like Import tuning (jap cars) cause they are more fun and are cheaper and more parts are accessible for us been so close Japan. But don't bag the Inport 'ricer' cars too much. There are alot of europeans on this site and i guarantee not many drive american muscle cars

@ Dub when you say your going up against a “2003 Camero Z28 and up pulls a 2000 civic si that you know is mod'ed out. Your rollin at bout 55mph” so the Camero is bone stock? Well I have run up against a few Camero’s with over 1,000 street able Horsepower (with nitrous and a 6-71 blower). And I have a 210 HP Turbocharged Porsche 944 as of right now the engine is bone stock. I have blown many, many, many, many, many Honda’s and their elk out of the water. They have had every thing from blowers to turbos to nitrous to completely rebuilt engines. I have nothing against the guys who actually build a car but I HATE the “ricers” the ones that do body work and an exhaust and that is IT. I also do not like the people who think that Honda’s and theier elk can whoop a Muscle car. Give me the amount of money that some of the Ricer spend on their paint and I could built a killer Muscle car.

If you noticed though I did say that "I know" they have something on me. Im not one of those that go out there and think, "Im the shit". But I will say it does feel good to take on something and win . . . .135hp with a CAI,and exhaust kit. . . . so far. . . and I only top out at 115mph I know that not fast, all that matter is how fast you get there cause it only that 1st 1/4 mile that counts . . . . oh yes I have won and not shit cars like pintos and such . . . . I have accually taken a couple Jettas (yes still in the import class but still). I know I dont have the fastest car around, I am proud of what I have and some day she might be a champ . . . . .

till then . . . let this fuck with your shit. . . . . not american muscle . . . . not ricer . . . . but a soccer mom!!!

you know Im not here to start an arguement or anything. I know I have been comparing a mod car to stock. . . . ok fine. . . . take my avatar and make me post like a n00b!

No really . . .. I have seen a special on TV at one time where the offered $50,000. one went import, one went muscle. Both had to purchase their cars and mods with the cash . . . . long story short . . . the import tuner won . . .. barely. . . but he won . . . . .

as I said before though. . . . Im not hating on anyone. Not popin off at the mouth or pointing the finger at anyone becaue of what someone has said our done . . . . . . .

I have a 1989 honda civic hatchback, it get great gas millages, something like 40mpg. That is really nice because gas is so expensive right now. I dont think that it is fare to say that a honda is not a "REAL cars" because back in the 60's gas was much less. I see how nice some of those old cars are to, and I would drive one if I could, but I am a college student and money is everything right now. So what im saying is, have some respect for imports, ok, scott

I have never owned or driven a decent Asian car (but I have push-started plenty of them.) My wife has owned 3 Asian cars and ALL had problems (Celica, Accord and Lexis) Especially the Lexis.

My Asian bikes have been equally problematic. I have owned 8 different dirt and or street bikes (Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda) and every one of them was problematic.

My Jeeps, Ford, Chevy and Harley have all behaved flawlessly in the past and present.

@ ScottsTown: My porsche gets around 30MPG and I remember HOT ROD mag doing a story about going fast but siping fuel WIth fuel injection you could make great mileage and power

@Dub-Style: I to did not mean to start anything. I see you and I have some of the same views and I respect Power and 1/4 mile times not paint and body work. I have seen some Imports win. Like you said barely but that is the best win, the one you work for

All GO no SHOW

Well BF, I must say your luck with cars redefines probability, given that overall, Japanese machines have a better history of reliability than American ones.

I hate ricers, really I do. Seeing a kid in a riced-out Honda is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me...but I do prefer Japanese cars and motorcycles overall.

My 88 Subaru 4WD hatch was unstoppable, all stock, with 150,000 miles on it. Not fast, but no slower than usual in a foot of snow either!

And my 2003 Suzuki Intruder 1400 (bought it new in 04, paid $7000 instead of 8500 for a new new one) rocks. I mean truly, wonderfully rocks. Has the rumble of the 1400 V-twin, but rides with the grace and agility that Japa-shaft-drives are famous for.

This argumeant is kinda stupid, so what who cares if someone drives a import or american or what.
I like "ricers" just fine and I have a 1966 Mustang GT coupe that i have put $25k+ in, thats about as muscle car as it gets
but I like "ricers" too, whats the big deal!

not that I'm aginst "Raw Power" I'd love to have a HEMI charger or 427 Vette, But I have a friend
with a 1993 Nissian 300ZX that runs LOW 11's at the track, I'd like to see a Charger do that and then cruise home
in comfort with AC and get 20+mpg.

Don't get me wrong I'm American thru & thru, I'm a Farmer who drives a dually Chevy 4x4 and favorite color is
John Deere green, thats about as American as it gets
but you need to give credit where credit is due! a daily driver with 4 seats and AC that gets 20+mpg and
can to the track on Tuesday nights and runs LOW 11's. thats cool

There's room in this world for both imports and hot rods. I personally appreciate both. I grew up driving tuned imports but loved driving my dad's collection of muscle cars at the same time. Everyone's into their own thing, don't knock them for it.

i have to agree on that but hell if i had a hemi charger i would not just drive that damn thing everyday to pick up eggs and milk either but i do agree that is impressive imports do have great pontential im just tired of everyone trying to have one ever since fast and the furious came out ...every lil twat thinks they can have one i still go for height not speed i got a 88 silverado with 40 inch boggers and over 12 inches of lift but speed would be nice
