fast n the furious was a pretty decent movie but a lot of it (car wise) was bullshit!, okay u take a 900hp blown charger against a supra with a turbo and other mods.....when they both race off the line the charger has a LITTLE lead which is complete bullshit, the supra would have no chance whatsoever, another thing is that they always use nitrous in last gear....thats not how it works, when people drag they use nitrous right from the start and strip the gears until their done

everytime im with my friends and we see a pop bottle car with an exhaust on it sounding like someone farting we laugh our asses off, but whats so funny about it is that the people driving the car actually think its fast....just like this kid at my school who thinks his talon is so fast...what a piece of shit, people need to wake up and learn that 16 seconds on the quarter mile ant fast

Don't discount that Talon so quickly. If it's a TSi it's AWD 210hp stock (195 if its a 1g). Stock it runs high 14's and can easily and inexpensivly be taken into the 13's with little effort. I'm not saying this kid has a TSi or even modded one, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

I herd in u.s the new trend is german cars. And that will pretty much end, The rice fad. This what i herd from a big car tuning magazine? but i say good german cars are bulit for speed, after all on the german motor way there is no speed limit! but saying that cant beat great cars like a dodge charger, and shelby mustang etc...

German cars could be considered another trend I guess. It's just a different taste in the auto tuning world. VW's are pretty popular as well as BMWs. The "Rice" stereotype may only fall on VW's though, although I haven't seen too many mod'ed VW's I didn't like. And never have I seen a mod'ed BMW that wasn't done tastefully. I still plan on getting an e46 but they're just pricey to buy then mod.

Don`t mod a BMW, just don`t do it...

Wow. Is this thread still alive. My position is eloquently () set out on pages with single digits.

Also, 951 you have a Jag ? Have you had to replace the wiring yet ? If not and you want to, let me know. I know someone who makes "plug and play" wiring harnesses with decent wiring.

Not that i care for "import" or not, but the TALON was jointly made with mitsubishi. Ever notice how it resembles the eclipse? And the TSi is basically an eclipse GSX. Not many people drive either of them nowadays.

Once again. I dont care for import or not. But the debate is there for power per cylinder. Many true import tuners, might i remind everyone there arent too many, give the debate that imports have vastly stronger power outputs from their engines. Eg: a 4cyl civic SiR with upwards of 400-500 Hp, or an 8cyl 'stang with 400-500 hp. Or the 2.6 liter engine displacement to 5.0 and up. Blah blah blah.
That being said, there is also the torque factoe, but thats a whole other debate as well.

Mazda RX-7---> 1.3L engine Horsepower?--> 255 can't beat that

The talon is an eclipse. They were simply re-tagged and assembled here. It was simply a way to get around laws on import restrictions.

Also, German cars are not a "trend" in the US. Trends go out and come back, like hotpants or cigar smoking among yuppies. German cars have always been popular as far as I know. What happened was in the old days, say 1986 for example since I recall pricing them then, a 320i BMW was 26K US whereas a T-Bird or Camaro was 9K. Now, one can get a similar BMW, say a 330, for mid 30's but a nice camaro is upper 20's and the freaking T-bird Ford wants 40+ for. More people are buying German because the quality is there and the price differential has dropped even with the US$ in the global crapper.

Also, I agree that torque is important B/C it hells you how much HP is working for you.

If you see the rear end of my Audi S8 with 368 HP and heavy torque to 4 wheels, you will know why.

This is true. Rotary != Standard 4-stroke when torque and HP are compared. However, for your review:

2003 Honda S2000

2L I4 - 240 HP - 120 HP/L

That's bone stock and NA. Best HP/L rating that I'm aware of in a production car.

give the new mazda 1.3 renesis rotary a few years to get some real kick. They have recently made a turbocharged RX-8. The new rotary engine will kick the old 13b engine from the RX-7's ass eventually...andddd without the oil leaking problems that all the old rotaries had.

And the Laser too. Exact same cars. And plenty of people are driving 1g and 2g DSM's nowadays. I'm not sure why you felt the need to try and tell me this since I said nothing about the Eclispe, but I know about DSM's. I was just explaining to the guy that he should not dismiss that car quickly.

Econ you are correct about the S2k having the most hp/liter for any na car.
