I dont like the 69 charger just because of the taillights, in my opinion those taillights ruin the car, would much rathar have a
68 charger for the quad bullit taillights

well technically my Audi & VW are imports, so I gotta defend those. i love european cars.

not a fan of many japanese cars but some of them you gotta respect. Z's, Supras, Skylines, S2000, WRX, etc.

All show, no go = lame

I own a '03 Honda Civic si that was designed and built in the UK. I have never owned an import car before this, american all the way! But I have to say that this car handles like a go kart thru the corners and is a blast to drive. I also own a '65 Buick Wildcat convertible with a 401 4bbl and I honestly can't afford to drive anywhere except for special occassions.

theres no replacement for displacement.

everytime i see a car with a coffee can-grapefruit shooter exaust on it, i want to stab the cars owner in the face with a hammer.

is you "stabber" broken . . . . .

Edit: I should get that kind of attitude towards you. I just dont like it people pop off at the mouth like that when really its not needed . . . . . besides you would be goin though hammers like you were on the set of "Tool Time"

those guys that you see w/the coffee can muffler spend like $60 for their exhaust and call it custom. Those are "ricers." But you have to admit that import tuners are the next generations Hot Rod seeing as old classic muscle cars are getting hard to come by, not to mention the "collector prices" that have seem to grown.

I agree with ya.

I think what makes threads like this boil is the talk about the cars. When in actuality its the fanatic. (like mentioned earlier; a car fanatic is a car fanatic either way.) Respect the guy that knows his stuff about what he's working on, whether it be a chevelle or a civic. If he takes the time to learn about his ride and build it right, then great.

There's that misconception that all imports/honda's/japanese auto's/etc are ricers. (Hell, look at the connotation of the slang; "ricer" implicating asia/asian/etc.) I actually have a few ricer friends...they spew out the latest "info" from superficial rags and think they know it all. They buy/want engine parts with no power goals in mind or idea of how/what they actually do for the entire system. But as much as it urks me to see/hear them talking about cars in that "ricer" way, I want to help 'em out. Some of 'em haven't even wrenched before and they're talking about doing some complicated mods, etc.

So instead of potentially having future arguments let's keep the discussion to the love we have for our rides and to share what we know! We could all learn something from each other!

I myself am into the imports right now. (owner of an 01 Integra.) But i totally appreciate old school american muscle. (I still want an early 80's Trans-Am, I grew up with 'em!)

Good times fella's!

word!

you make a good point about everyone thinking that just cause you driver and import. . . .your rice. . . . sooooo untrue. Some of use want to achive something with our cars other than some that are seeing who can make the epileptic go into a seizure first with all the damn neons and strobe lights their car. . . . .

Quick Story:
I have a friend that was driving a 2000 focus ZX3 and this chick called him a ricer. . . . how in the hell??? He was like, last time I check Ford was domestic. . . . . she was like its still a compact so your a ricer . . . . they went back and forth for a good 10 mins till she couldnt back herself up anymore and came to the conclusion that he was now considered a "Corner" since it was a domestic compact. . . . you cant win either was. . . .

I say lets just shut the fuck up and ride . . . . . were are all down like 4 flat tires

Just for shits n giggles -=You Might Be A Ricer If=-

I also drive a 3rd gen Supra...87 Turbo Targa. BTW I added you to my buddy list. I kept the stock 7M-GTE motor......i've blown away vettes mildly modded, trans ams, camaros, stangs, and the like. My car has the stock body and original paint. I am a tuner.

The kid down the street with the huge wing on his 94 civic DX with stock exhaust, spinner hubcaps and a "custom exhaust" is a ricer. My friend has a 97 Civic EX with a hybrid motor, full exhaust (real custom) $4k paint job, ghost flames, very plain and clean body kit and enough power to waste a posche 911 turbo going up a huge bridge. That was a blast. He is a tuner.

Yeah I hate imports (specially bloody great gas guzzlers from the USA),In Australia we have nice locally made little compact cars that use bugger all fuel, and go like stink with nice little V8's (generally 5.5 litres). I do like the four cylinders for everyday travel, got a toyota (they make em here), gets good milage, nice features, gotta an old Holden V8 for playing silly buggers on weekends.

@ClarkKent My definition of “ricer” is a Honda or Japanese car has a got a paint job, big wheels and tires, lowered, body kits w/BIG wings, and a big exhaust and then has done nothing to the engine to back up the look.

I have seen imports that rock and some that suck (I only count Japanese car's in the term Import. What European car {that has come to USA} really sucks?) It is the ons that suck that turn some of the Hot Rodders off of the Imports

@goatman. just keep in mind, most the civics and shit you see are don't competely wrong. adding a fart can (and possibley even an air intake) won't do shit for a civic. so you have to consider all those cars stock, cuz that can't even count for modded.

now this being said. yes, civics ARE amazing cars. they rev extremely high. which gives them a good advantage. if you rebuild the top end of the engine, (the bottom end and withstand up to 300 horses) and turbo them (correctly!, not just slap on a turbo and be done), do a port and polish, and all that shit, they can be fast as shit. but the bottom line is, you HAVE to know what you're doing. most of these assholes running around in thier [faggot quote] really fast race cars[/faggot quote] don't knwo shit about cars. so i agree that i hate rice for the most part, unless it's done right. but NO wings, no graphics, no fancy(homosexual) taillights, and all that shit.
