any car can be a sweet car, ricer or not, it depends how much care and attention the owner has put into it. i've seen civics make mince meat out of m3's, and a saleen mustang own a ferrari, haha in a straight line of course!! any car regardless of where it was made can be an awesome car if the owner puts there mind to it...
Any car can go fast... just depends how many stickers you put on it,
@shaggy6ster KIA is a Jap car
@GoatMan My novas 307 has over 110000 miles on it and no rebuild is in its future I think it will go another 100000 before I crack it open. Hell my truck made it to 187000 before it blew the 6.2L up (bad injector, Crap fuel) with a hydrolock
Its this argument still going on? geez it was going last nite when I went to bed, You all got some strong issues concerning "Ricers"
something tells me this thread aint gonna end for a while a long while but cars are cars im just an ol redneck country boy so i just prefer hight not speed and thats my opinion...another may want speed thats his opinion so why knock what someone else prefers... opinions are like ass holes everybody has one some just stink...
ok well i dont want to knock any one person here, everyone has their valid points. Muscle cars you dont just slap on build in horse power you add it. from adding blowers to bore over to better headers the whole works. but that costs a lot of money doesnt it. and you cant just take 10 thousand dollars and buy an old muscle. let alone dump in about 8 thousand to "pimp it out". I like the cost of imports, the way you can personlize them, and the many many many mods you can do with them. All i can say is i love both genres of cars but i would take a supra over and muscle car to date
ok, ok, ok, i have a confession. i hate ricers, ALOT. the wings, the grapefruit shooters, the ugly paint, ugh. but, and this is rare, if some one does the costomizing right, it can look good. but like i said, it has to be done RIGHT. its gotta be sleek, shaved, and smooth (much like my women!) only civic i have ever liked was black as black as black, with about a dozen and a half clear coats, super dark windows, no door handles, no spoiler, no body kit, respectable rims, and a sweet, yet hidded, soundsystem. not to mention it hauled ass. sleepers is where its at. people who flaunt up their cars, but pull 0-60 in about 10 seconds, go to hell. but the guys that down play their car, make it look good, and tear off the line, you have my respect.
BUT NO FUCKING WINGS!
@yayaman I agree up to the finding old muscle cars the ones that came from the factory with the big motors and all that jazz take in the big bucks. I just saw a 69 camaro go for about 3,000$ it had a inline 6 and a 2 speed slushbox. so the bodys are out there ya just have to look. Now the Jap imports no you can find one for sale on every corner in the USA. I could spend about oh 2,000$ on my Import but that whould get me a exaust system.
Im gonna have to disagree on the price comparison. An import might seem cheaper to build but look at the power gain you get compaired to an old fashion V8. Take a used honda civic and say a used fox body mustang. Both of those cars are junk and theyre dirt cheap. If you sink 10 grand in each car i cant think of a scenario where the honda would be better except when it comes to handling. 6 grand will get you about 450hp out of a 302 if you know what youre doing and you dont pay people to do your work. Spray the 302 for an extra 800 bucks and youre looking at a 600hp mid 10 second car. 6 Grand in that 4 cyl economy shitbox is going to equal about 250hp maybe a little over 3 if you can manage to spray without blowing that head gasket into a million peices. Then you have the problem of not having any torque and having to put 300 hp to the ground with a front wheel drive car. So in comparison no matter how much you ricers think a turbo and "NOS" is going to add and how much lighter your car is youre still stuck with half of the power and no where near as much torque. Call me crazy but I would much rather build a v8 of any sort where you can make twice the power for the same price.
All this talk of drag racing is retarded.
If you want a real test of a car, take it to a road track, not a straight line.
I love takeing mine to the road track. Mine was built for the road track
