well, i am skilled with blades, mostly barfights. only two scars as a result, and that was in the beggining, so by now i can cut you before you blink. basic weapon training (semi-automatic pistol, pump-action shotgun and rifle), because a real good friend is a fanatic hunter and feels compelled to wake me up at 4 am to go with him. i can harm anyone, as i really don't give a fuck.
right now it's 5:38 am and i'm home. i live in a 4-story apartament building with one staircase, no elevator or fire escape. the main doors are made out of 3mm think sheet iron. we have an intercom which only allows entry by code or digital keycard. 14 apartments, all good friends, and the basement is filled with food.
close by i have a 10 inch knife with compass and a baseball bat. i stand 1,87 meters tall and weigh 73 kg.
a bit underweight, but that never stopped me. i am on the 3rd floor, so they can only get in through the door, and that's if they enter the staircase, which is doubtable.
i would give myself a 60% chance of surviving, because i don't know how long the food will last.

Good answer psyche, that's a pretty solid plan.

Live in a small town fairly close to guard unit. 2.5 acres with small gardens and livestock. Have my own solar-wind power electricity so no lights out. Im an ex Marine Demolitions Expert and shoot at Expert Level With both rifle and pistol. Have 3 M16s with limited ammo But also have Blade Weapons Combat Exp. 18 battle ready swords 4 combat knives, 3 suits of mail and 2 of plate. Advanced Medical Kit, Plenty Of Food and Water ( Well Water )Can grow my own bio fuel for my vehicles. also have a good stockpile of porn lol. My dogs would be toast as they are punie little runts. But I would be protecting my wife with asthma and my 2 little ones. So all In all I would rate myself at a 87% wife 62% kids and 28%. God help em If I got my hands on some c4 lol

Considering i have plenty of lower level windows at my house, and only one double barrel shotgun with very limited ammo, i would probably be toast.

Initial outbreak? Wouldn't take much to get in here, my only real news source is the net so I'd hear about it pretty early at the very least. Shit, I hope it dont happen today as it's April the first and I wont believe shit for the next few hours. Damn serve me right if I get bit this morning, and I still wont believe it! I have to put my chances of survival pretty low, mostly because I am a lazy fuck, I have a gf and a baby... overall, I'd say 2% of surviving my first day of contact with zomebies.

If they are the 'Dawn of the Dead' remake/'28 days later' zombies, then I'm totally fucked and I give myself a nice even zero percent chance. In fact I'd just pop the top off the sleeping pills and go quietly in my sleep.

The real problem isn't the initial outbreak, it's if the zombies kill enough people to cause a breakdown in utilities and services. When your water and electricity go off, you're pretty fucked. Food will vanish from the shops if it hasn't already from either looters or simply bulk panic buying. Fuel will have vanished in much the same way and the only way you will be able to refuel a car is by siphoning off the remains of other cars fuel tanks.

Cold, hunger, and disease are the real enemies. People want to survive so given a choice between you and them, it's always gong to come down to 'I want to live' so you have to watch out for sombies, disease, starvation, freezing to death, and the nutcase next door. You really ought to think of killing everybody you meet in fact just in case they get the idea of killing you first. Mankind if doomed.

So once that threshold is crossed and there aren't enough people to keep things running, bang. We are all fucked. Except for the survivalists and Rambo clones of course.

There's no fighting your way out of a zombie attack. The odds are simply too high against you, even if it were a one on one fight. Realistically speaking, not all of us have ready access to a flamethrower. The two factors that are on the side of (some) humans are brains and speed. Those two should be enough to stay alive with. The key then would be to keep on the move and to do so cautiously. A constant search for food and temporary shelter and rest. Once you hole up long term, it might as well be your tomb...

Depends a lot on yourself, 1 on 1 vs a zombie bare hand would be fucking tricky, but if you were armed with anything reasonable, i don't see any reason you couldn't beat a zombie fairly easily. It's when their in groups that shit gets bad.

Depends on your location and supplies, if you have a couple people in a pretty big, secure and remote stronghold and you could continue some form of regular life, such a growing crops and what not, i don't think it would be that bad to stay in one area. As long as you could keep up moral and keep your head together, i think it might even be safer in the long run.

There is only one problem. I live in the great state of georgia USA. Here they let you own what guns you want within reason. I have an AK47, AR15, 500 smith and wesson magnum, .44 smith and wesson magnum, Sig Sauer .45, and a Heckler and Koch G3, And a Robar RC50 BMG Also a load of other hunting rifles. I could take a lot of them out but there has to be a time when you run out of ammo. I would have to be like that guy and shoot them from a secure rooftop.
