Thanks for taking this serious guys, it's shaping up to be a pretty interesting thread.

John - he plays football on sundays and most people think he's gay

He sounds like a zombie stomping machine.
[/reply]

He'd just walk up to them and... 'poof' all the zombies would be gone

I have a special military experience, I know weapons, let's kick ass.

And I'm also trained for making connections to outside world during war.

First I've had her

I live in a small English village where I'm the only outsider since the locals found out the ethnic minorities taste like chicken and the outbreak of Zombies would be hard to work out as they're are all related. I've lived here 2 years and I'm not sure which are men and which are women (see below)

As for weapons training. I can hold my own, in fact I'm holding my own right now but that's another story!

BIG DADDY TAIL OF THE TAPE

Height - 6' 6"
Weight - 20 Stone
Chest - 50"
Arms - 2
Legs - 2 1/2
Hair - Sometimes
Attitude - Bad
W.L.D Sober 0,0,0
W.L.D Drunk 137,0,0 (all coming by way of knockout)
Times watched Shaun of the dead - 9023
Chance of sleeping through the out break - 84%
Chance of letting Keeley Hazel suck me off if she's a Zombie - 100% (what a way to go)
Chance of the local 24hr Tesco still being open - 73%
McCain oven chips now only 5%

Is zombie-ism transmitted by direct contact like the Dawn of the Dead or indirect like 28 Days? My personal best strategy would be to pack up anything that goes bang along with the few thousand appropriate projectiles and head for the farm (10 miles). The strong points would be the aforementioned defensive tools, semi-rural area, vehicles, fuel, food supply, water well, and open fields to see what's coming for several hundred meters. If they can't climb barbed-wire fences, that's a bigger bonus. Lack of a generator would be a downside. If all the rednecks treated it like the opening of hunting season, the zombie numbers would probably dwindle pretty quick, not to mention local supplies of alcoholic beverages. I'll say 50-50 chance since something stupid would probably happen.

this is awesome!
well...im in good physical condition, have training in weapons such as police batons and swords, dont have much knowledge in firearms since in Oz....we dont have a need, but i have shot hopping kangarros from the back of a moving ute (truck for you yanks)

I have wilderness training, and bush tucker training. I know CPR and basic first aid. I have kungfu and jujitsu training/knowledge and i have good construction knowledge because of my work. But living in Oz, our military isnt the biggest or the strongest, but its up there i guess...and we do have top notch SAS service men.

Currently, im at work...its 10am, and i have a news feed that runs along the top of my workspace...so im always up to date. Our building is inside a large workshop compound, and we have shitloads of power tools and generators, we have a dozen work vehicles, all with fist aid kits and baseball bats (dont ask) and our meals room is full of non-perishables and meat we store for BBQ's....we also have beer which we buy to drink on Fridays.

Id take one of the largest work vehicles...travel 30 mins to pick up my wife and son, running over zombies along the way, drive back and get in the compound again, assuming i can go and come back safely...i think i have a 27% chance of not surviving

Another excellent answer.

@Bender: in dawn of the dead the zombies kinda swarmed the mall...although wal-mart could make a pretty strong fortress..humm.

Since I'm a zombie, I don't hafta worry about an attack.

Thanks for the tips on how to survive assaults from the living. The Undead will avoid military bases and Wal-Mart fer shure.

im on the same page as latino..

im in good condition and i know my way around a gun...by myself i have about a 40% chance of surviving

however..if we get to wal-mart and set up our fort..i increase my survival chances to about 90%...all we really have to do is conserve our food and stay alive until the epidemic is over and the survivors begin to surface. If however, it gets to the point to where we have to fight our way out and go to a new location wal-mart has the right tools for that.

All you need to do to survive a zombie outbreak is the following.
1. Go and get a degree from MIT
2. Buy yourself a really nice crowbar.
3. Get your hands on a HEV suit.
4. Invent the gravity gun.
5. Make friends with a cop named Barney.
6. Lastly but not least, stay away from pale men wearing blue suits and carrying a briefcase.

Well I'm at home, VERY well armed, nearly 100 firearms and massive ammo, 21 years as a explosive engineer in the army, live in the most POWERFUL MILITARY nation in the world! Have many friends who are heavily armed also, still in very good physical condition, have all types of necessary vehicles, trucks, jeeps atv, motorcycles, trained in outdoor survival, have a lot of military contacts, live approx 25 miles away from a national guard armory with Abrams fighting vehicles sitting there, am skilled enough to operate Abrams and such, maybe only thing that would slow me down would be my wife (which i can outrun) which may work to my advantage in slowing down the zombies!!! My son is skilled in marksmanship, Have a no mercy policy, if i even may think you were a zombie or recently bit, i would waste no time in blowing your head off, live in a fairly isolated area that i know extremely well, but i think the key to me and my family, (at least me and my kids survival) would be getting to the armory and getting myself a nice fighting vehicle (tank) if it worked out that way, and i wasn't on WBW and missed the zombie attack announcement, i give myself a 90% survival rate

alot of you guys are right on the money- DFP has plenty of ammo (most important), Walmart has tons of AMMO and food at everyday low prices (you could even get cooking oil and a new fryer to make some McCain's Chips instead of oven baking them). Let's not forget to mention Beer up the ying yang.

Pretty tough.

Weapons:
Recurve bow + 10 arrows - Medium training, knife, stack of cards and enough liquor to make 20 small molotov cocktails.

Stimulant aids:
Caffeine Tablets and Ephedrea, vitamins and liquor.

Clothing:
Top notch track-running shoes. Full suit kevlar clothing, allthough it wont stop a bullet dead or stop a thrusting knife, it does give resistance to bites and cutting incase id end up in a tough spot. Small hard-case backpack and 6 belt-puches + black military vest with additional puches.

Transport:
Cannondale mountain-bike in exelent condition weighing 10kg. Tubeless solution, fast working patching-sollution and notube sealant-liquid that will keep atleast 1.5ps pressure if punctured (depending on size of the puncture). Allthough id have to consider worst case scenario and be ready to dump the bike if i was in a tough spot during a puncture. Cycling shoes and medium experience in techniques.

Physical condition:
Above average condition. Strong muscular, with 3-5 kg overweight. What id consider medium stamina, but high psychological ability/stability and survival instincts which will help me keep going (this is something i know from experience). I have -0.75 eyesight. Not a good thing when trying to decide wether a person might be a zombie or not. But i have good senses and good ability to identify unnormal behaviour from far away. (Walking methods/attitude and such.) Good night vision, smell and hearing. Might come in handy.

Food:
Scarce food supply. 3 kg of protein and about 5 cans of food, but lots of fresh tapped boiled water in case contamination source was the water-supply.

Survival kits:
No survival kits, exept bandaging and knives.

Information:
Daily reader and follower of current events on TV and radio.

Strategy:
Survey the area, find out exactly how hard the contamination is, and how hard it has hit my area. Then make a desicion about wether to try to gather a posse to deal with the problem at hand, or flee the area. Weapons are not a common household item in Norway, but a local rifle-club with around 35 working sports-rifles 22cal, 30 working sports handguns 22cal and 10 heavier caliber and 'wild-guess' 15k ammo aprox 2 km away will be my first waypoint in any case. I have high experience in rifles and hand-guns and several championchip medals.

My neighbourhood is consistant of around 15 4-floor brick-building easy defendable block complexes and surrounding villa's. Id use one of the buildings as a camp for any individuals, if a desicion to hunt zombies was made.

If i had to flee the area, and alone. I would take the trail on open roads north towards the woods and mountains and next big city. These are the routes that will most likely have multiple choices if chaos has blocked the roads and population is thin and made it unlikely that the contamination has spread too far. But i will avoid any unnescesary confrontation. Im a very caucious person at nature, and will keep distance from anyone untill i find them safe and trustworthy. I will take stimulants to keep me awake for the amount of time it takes me to get to a relative safe resting spot. Travel time with stimulants will not exeed 3 days because of the high risk of psychological fatigue. But rest will only be an option when i find a secure and defendable spot with multiple escape posibilities. I expect to hit the next big city in less than 7 days. If radioed messages is given about refugee camps. I will try to reroute and survey these options along the way.

Bottom line:
If chaos has not yet blocked multiple escape-routes, i give myself 80% chance of survival.

-Bingo
