The following two photographs exhibit flowers ready for polenation. Ignoring a flower in this condition could be cause for loss of one's gardening rights.

Here we see an African varietal in which the most delicate portion of the flower has protruded from its shell, and it appears to have done so under it's own power. A rare opportunity, but use great care in handling.

A specimen in a very relaxed position. You can see that even in a position that makes other varieties difficult to maintain, the patient gardener can easily provide light teasing stimulation to this variety.

While it would appear that the gardener made an honest effort, pollination efforts appear to have failed in this example. This not always a negative.
