I just watched the movie Die Hard for like the 15th or 20th time. It's a classic.
Off to sleep.
It's more of a Christmas movie to me, so I like to keep it seasonal

The sadness is over...time to get shit done.
Texas' state Senate was a bit of a clusterfuck tonight.
1. Republicans want to pass a bill that will close something like 75% of state funded abortion clinics.
2. Democrats stage a filibuster.
3. Republicans say filibuster is void because of some procedural flaw minutes before the deadline for the day at midnight, after which they're not allowed to hold a vote and the bill won't pass.
4. Spectators in the gallery start screaming, making it next to impossible for the Senate to conduct a vote.
5. Screaming continues until after midnight.
6. Republicans hold vote after midnight anyway, claim bill passes. (lol remember #3 above)
Mass confusion ensues. Nobody sure if it really passed or not. Members of the gallery being arrested for screaming and whatnot.

I watched some of it, but missed the screaming. Would be a real shame if the vote passed. :/
I really think it'll pass.
These dudes are committed. They're on a mission from God (they think) whereas the opposition has to mobilize a diverse array of people less committed to a singular cause.
I dunno, maybe i'm just being a pessimist, but I never count out the bigots and misogynists.

Well...Texas fucked things up tonight...lets hope Cali gets it right tomorrow.

Edit:
Maybe Texas didn't fuck up after all. 3 am Texas time and CNN is reporting that the controversial abortion law did NOT pass. Good news for the women of Texas and throughout the US.
For now. I'm sure those guys will be back.
Also, DOMA ruled unconstitutional this morning, so yay for gay weddings and rights.
I am loosening the wire on the cork.
I'm so getting gay married this weekend now.

Yay California!!
F, I'm happy for you that you can now legally do what most straight people take for granted and that what you do in the privacy of your own home, and what shouldn't be anyone's business except your own will no longer prevent you from marrying someone you love.
F1098 finds this awesome.
Now you can get married and refer to your wifey as "the old ball and chain" or "my old lady".
