First, you didn't answer my question.

Second, you're assuming that everyone in the world (or at least California) follows the same religious definition of "marriage" as do you. They do not. They may be fundamentalist Mormons who still believe in polygamy. They may be Aethists and as such don't recognize your right to place a religious definition on a legal term.

I'm not going to get into the absurdity of your red herring.

It ends with two human beings who love each other. And seriously...how does it affect you?

At least in this situation there is one of each.
If mom and mom are in the kitchen and you call out for mom which one answers you? That is all I meant.
Although I guess you would call them by their first name or something.

Game, first, either address the issue intelligently or not at all.

Second, if you want anyone to take you seriously, try answering some of my questions before going on about barnyard animals.

I would have voted for gay marriage, it makes no sense at all to not be able to marry the one you want to spend the rest of your life with regardless of what differences/similarities they share.

To me, the only reason it isn't allowed or it is illegal in most states is because of the religious aspect of it, and this is not an opening to start debating about religion, just an observation. It just seems like if something is stated in the bible as being wrong then no one else should do it or enjoy it and it's the same way with porn, cussing, sex before marriage, etc.

You can make your dog like anything so long as you have a jar of peanut butter.

ok, well, frankly, his herring may not be any redder than yours, in bring up polygamy, since that still involves male and female.
For what it's worth, it's my impression that the vast majority would favor the institution of a "civil union." To some, that may appear to be just a semantics issue, but apparently, to many, it's not . . .

Those that resort to insult and circular logic should be pitied... and then dragged from their homes and shot. It would solve a lot of problems.

Maybe Game14 thinks some gay guy is going to force him into marriage for consensual, frequent sodomy.

---

As to Brownell. It may sound simple to you but on the ballot it was very deceptive. What they claimed Proposition 8 "Protection of Marriage"

Now along with the confusing ballot; they blitzed the media with statements that Prop 8 would not discriminate against gay people. Then they told people it will be mandatory that all children would be taught of same-sex marriage and intercourse and without passing the curriculum the student(s) would be prevented from graduating unless voting yes. They claimed that without Prop 8 that churches would lose their tax-exemption status. They claimed that without Prop 8 people could be sued over their personal beliefs. They also claimed that without Prop 8 that parent's would lose the right to determine what their children were taught.

Proposition 8 did none of this. They out right lied about its purpose and who supported it.

It is about as bad as the No on Prop 2 blitz we got in Michigan claiming that if we passed Prop 2, we would be overrun with clones and doctors would secretly steal fetuses for experimentation and stem cell extraction.

Incorrect. Polygamy does not discriminate about gender and orientation. It depends on the doctrines of specific sects. There are plenty of polygamist that have both wives and husbands.

Polygamy: (n) the practice or custom of having more than one wife or husband at the same time.

ahhh, fact is, no one told the truth about prop 2. Nothing annoys me more these days as when they go accusing people of being against "stem cell research" when they only oppose "embyonic stem cell research," which, in spite of what some tell you really is about cloning. The fact (and it really is fact) is that adult stem sell therpay is being used with great success, while embyonic stem cell research is still in the lab rat stage, and almost invariably results in brain tumors.

...and??? "Husbands and wives" are, as I said, male and female.

The No on Prop 2 here got worse by the day.

1. They claimed doctors would steal unborn fetuses during regular checkups and claim miscarriages were imminent.
2. They claimed people would be cloned against their will.
3. They claimed that cloned organs would run rampant.
4. They claimed that cloned organs would be sold on the black market.
5. They claimed that failed cloned organs would end up in patients in need of organ transfers.
6. They claimed our taxes would skyrocket to pay for it all.
7. They claimed it would allow 'special interests' to patent our genomes.

It got really absurd and insane. But it made a dent because they had a shit load of cash to put into advertising and Yes on Prop 8 couldn't keep up.
