That is sadly not true I have a stepdaughter and I raised her as my own, when she was 15, she had many friends that were sexually active, thankfully, my daughter was not, I was already separated from her mother at the time. Her sexually active friends thought it was fun flirting with me, one however took it too far, way too far and really wanted a go, she may have been built like a woman, but definitely not mature enough to understand that she was putting me in a very bad situation ... I was so worried(actually scared shitless!) that she would be upset that I did not give in to her, might claim I had made the advances ... finally sat down with my daughter and told her, my daughter kicked her ass.

I don't think it is so bad for a 40 yr old to have sex with a 16yr old M/F or F/M. Some 16 girls do not act like school girls, and are more mature then university girls between the ears, although it is rare.

When I was 16 I looked much older, and I met a girl that was a nude model at the local university I later found out. She looked 22 or 25, and everything was great. Later I found out she was 42, and I doubt that anyone would think it was rape either way.

As a 40 yr old man and as a father of two girls, I think both scenarios are repulsive - even in today's world with teens being very sophisticated, there is no excuse whatsoever for an supposed "Adult" to cross that line - let kids be kids and leave them alone.... IMHO

but where do you draw the line between ages. it obviously depends on the people involved but I don't think there would be too many situation where 40/16 would be reasonable.

I actually asked a lawyer that exact question, and he said that it would still be your fault but that you would have an extremely good case to get away with it, Im going to assume that since you are in the pub you are over 18 (legal drinking age) and as you would be the older party the responsibility would lie with you

basically it is still illegal and you can be charged but it is VERY unlikely that you would be.

(that being said if you do have any doubts ask her/him and if they say they are over the legal sexual age, and they are in a licenced place (pub) the you should not be responsible)

@at the whole 40 yr old thing either way its messed up. No one 16 is responsible enough to make that decision to be with someone that much older. ur gonna fool around at that age no matter what, we all did, but to be resonible with who we fooled around with is a whole other story. I almost made the mistake with this one girl at the bar( she looked like she had to be at least 23) thank god my friends knew her and told me that she was 17 ( its still illegal for ya to do that here in da US) but still she looked like she was 23!!!. she was hammered with the rest of us there. now would it be messed up say a guy got in underage and went home with a older woman. its all how society feels about this whole issue. thank god im not old enough yet to have any children but i look out for my family and friends( who are female) and if an older man ever started hitting on them or did nething to them. feel very sorry for him and the rest of his pittyful life

Yeah see I totally agree with you...I mean you meet some chick in a bar..your automatically going to assume she is at least legal age. I think it shouldnt be the persons fault it should be the bar for not checking id better
