Ok here's the problem; I want to get a satellite radio(either an XM or Sirius). I'm not sure which service to get or which reviever to go with. All that I know for sure is I want a Plug and Play reciever.

Any suggestions as to either which service(XM or Sirius) to use, or which reciever to go with?

Shitty radio IS free. It's the good shit we gotta spend money on. Same with pussy... any old bar fly will give you some for free, but that premium shit's gonna cost you.

Sirius - No commercials, limited DJ talk unless you're on a channel where the format is a little more DJ talk (there are a few but not many), no censoring lyrics, digital sound, and SO MANY channels you can bookmark a bunch that are very genre specific and nearly always play stuff you like.

You can even bookmark individual songs - push a button while a song is playing, and the system will alert you when it is playing on a channel other than what you're tuned in to.

Downside - line of sight. Bridges, some covered parking, even rilly big trees will cut out the transmission entirely. Also there will be bad days where your reception is just spotty - I mean a fraction of a second of silence every few seconds to every few minutes depending on how bad it is.

You actually get used to that but it drives infrequent passengers nuts. That's a plus, actually...

I like Sirius, but most car receivers (even though they say it's "Sirius Ready" will need to have a Sirius tuner installed before you can receive the service. However, if you want a receiver with the tuner built into the it, the only one currenly out there is Kenwood's EZ700SR. With this receiver, all you have to do is activate the service and you're good to go. However, the only problem with this receiver is that ALL functions are disabled unless you have Sirius service. In otherwords, you can't use the CD Player or the Radio unless you have service going to your receiver. This is the main reason why I bought the EZ500 and the tuner separately.

Another reason why Sirius is better is that you can buy a lifetime service plan for $500 (which pays for itself in 4 years). XM doesn't offer a lifetime service plan.

Sirius. Got one in each vehicle and a portable for the house and boat. For XM by the time you get everything that Sirius gives you, you have paid twice as much. Check into it. Also, XM rebroadcasts different local channels. Sirius is all live broadcasts from their own DJ's (at least the music ones).

It's gonna be great when howard gets there. 4 day weeks, 12 weeks of vacation a year. Looks like he is going to work very hard for his 500 million

MLB is not going anywhere. They have a huge multi year contract with XM that started last season.

When I posted this I was already leaning towards Sirius. Now I'm sure. I plan to go with Sirius, but can anyone recommend a good Plug and play reciever(one that can be used in the house, and in the car).

Lifetime means the life of that specific receiver. So if you change headunits then you would have to get service to that specific unit.
