here is no "premium only" on XM. There was when they had the Playboy channel but they got rid of that channel.

In canada he was never banned, he just never made it big in Canada. Montreal pulled him becasue of low ratings and so did Toronto but i don't think that is the reason why he is not on Sirius Canada. He will come to Canada in the next year a bet.

I don't really believe your O&A comment but I don't have the facts to dispute your claims.

that's fine
I am just letting you know what I have heard them say on their show but it could exaturated
I'm not trying to convert you or anyone else, just puttung up the other side of the story.

Either way satelite radio is a great product and that's all that matters

Here is the last 2 minutes of his show
listen for the O&A chants and for someguy to yell O&A as the last words ever on the Howard Stern show

I currently subscribe to both XM and Sirius. I had the XM first and just bought my sirius this fall. As far as the music goes, it's basically the same. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of sitting at home every sunday and watching football, so I listen to it on the road (and by the way they only televise certain games, while I can listen to any one I choose...not the one the demegraphics say I want to see)
O&A vs Stern...had no say in which I went with, I really don't care for either. (just my opinion)
Yes, they both have commercials but not as often as some would let on. Monthly fee and equipment cost is virtually the same, depending on where you buy them.
As far as service goes, they both will black out underneath a covered area. I've driven all over and haven't had too many problems with either one.
I don't see either one of these companies folding anytime soon, so both would be a safe bet in my opinion.

just my 1/2 cent on the matter.

EDIT: I haven't had to deal with any sort of customer service with either one of them so I can't comment on that.

Anyway, like I said before, I've decided to go with XM, and I'll have everything set up and ready to go in about a week.

It's true
can't really have a gathering for leaving terrestrial radio your company fires you for a stunt that all the bosses okay'ed.

I am not saying that they are bigger then stern. I just think that they are better, that's all

Sirius #s are much better the last two months then XM in terms of sales/members, XM has more members but has been around a bit longer, XM has GM and Honda, Sirius has most everything else from BMW, Audi, Benz, Mazda, and so on. also Hertz car rental is putting units in their cars.

XM counts each GM car that comes with a short term free XM free membership as a member where Sirius counts REAL members so XM kinda has iffy #s Your AVG GM buyer wont fork out 12.95 a month for radio, where your BMW/Benz owners will.

What it comes down to is XM has MLB, NASFUCKINGCAR, and Direct TV music channels (might I add their xmas station plays ads for the USPS no ads my ass!) Sirius has NFL, NHL, Tons of college stuff, Howeard, and a bunch of other goodies.

both cost the same 12.95

I HATE nascar and dislike baseball, even more so on the radio, Sirius was a no brainer for me.
each to their won. if you want MLB get XM O&A were GREAT on the radio, I miss them, but they wont touch howard.

Start buying and selling XMSR and SIRI and you will learn fast just how well they are both doing =)

SIRI just went up 6% friday. I own about 750 shares of it. WOOT!

I agree. The name calling is inappropriate and childish. We here at WBW are civilized. With that said, I'm off to look at some more boobies.

no i dont remember that, oh ya it didnt happen because O&A got kicked off the air for doing something that takes more balls the howard wish he had.

howards show has become the same show everyday and i been saying this before he blamed the fcc for his subparr radio, as he put it. I use to be a hudge howard fan and i loved his show back 15 years ago but for the last about 10 years his show has gone down hill and has become the same show everyday. O&A show has started and grown in the time that howard claimed the fcc is killing all tv and radio, i cant deny that the fcc is messing things up but how can he say it is all the fcc if others are growing and getting better under the same rules he has. up till his last show on FM i did every once in a while i would tune in to his show just to see what he is doing and everytime it was 1 of 4 things. complain about bush, complaining about the fcc, toward the end giveing sirius a 4 hour infomitial, or him telling a girl to take her top off. now dont get be wrong i am not a fan of the fcc and bush and i really like topples chicks but i want more in a radio show. with O&A there show is always changeing, they do have some of there clasic bits but they are always finding new things for the show.

now what i been hearing is that when he gose live in jan. he is going to be only doing 4-4 hour shows a week and he is getting 3 months of vacation a year. so when you buy sirius for him you will be getting basicly 7.2 months of a normal person work week and you will be pay for a year's worth of service. this is my math 4 shows a week time 4 weeks a month, 16 shows a month. 16 shows a month times 9 months is 144 shows. now the average radio show is 5 days a week and for him he should havew that if not more. so 144 shows divided buy 5 a week is 28.8 weeks, 28.8 weeks is 7.2 months

This whole O&A vs. Howard debate is so lame. Stern paved the way for second generation shock jocks like Opie and Anthony. No Howard, no O & A. It's that simple. That being said, if someone finds Opie & Anthony's shtick funnier than Stern, then godspeed. There's no point in getting all bent out of shape about it.

Looks like I found this thread a little late, but regarding the original topic of XM vs Sirius: I've got both of them right now. My new car came with XM, and I have Sirius in my house. Listening to both for a couple of months, I have to say XM is a little better when it comes to the music channels. More of a selection, and just better tunes overall. Sirius has better comedy programming though. Regardless, Stern and the NFL are why I'm sticking to Sirius once my free XM is done.....

I agree stern did pave the way and he made it easier for people today to do the shock jock thing, but if he didnt do it someone else would have.

now i bet 10 years from now there will be another show on and then there will be fights between O&A fans and what ever that shows fans are on who is better. if you like stern more then O&A then enjoy, personly i am a o&A fan now but if they never came i would mostlikly be fighting for sterneven though i think his show has gone down hill for the past 10 years

So I guess being original and the first don't matter because somebody else would have EVENTUALLY done it...

So i guess we shouldn't care about George Washington, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, etc.... because somebody would have eventually done what they did....

I am not takeing away from him but the entire quote that i responded to was saying that if stern didnt ever do what he did there wouldn't be any shock jocks. i think that he was the first big name shock jock but to think that if he didnt do it no one would of is i think a little crazy.

to me this is like saying If the usa never went to the moon dose that mean no other country would of, no it means that just the usa got there first. if they didnt maybe russa or china would of done it first.

Howard was great in his time

but since his divorce and when Jackie left, his show has gone down hill. Artie was a good addition but he isn't and never will be as good Jackie.
Like Howard has said "I've been doing sub-par radio for the last 10 years"
