Both Xm and Sirius are losing money, Sirius paid 500 million for stern but XM paid closer to 600 million for the MLB deal. I believe its a 12 year contract.
Sirius #s are much better the last two months then XM in terms of sales/members, XM has more members but has been around a bit longer, XM has GM and Honda, Sirius has most everything else from BMW, Audi, Benz, Mazda, and so on. also Hertz car rental is putting units in their cars.
XM counts each GM car that comes with a short term free XM free membership as a member where Sirius counts REAL members so XM kinda has iffy #s Your AVG GM buyer wont fork out 12.95 a month for radio, where your BMW/Benz owners will.
What it comes down to is XM has MLB, NASFUCKINGCAR, and Direct TV music channels (might I add their xmas station plays ads for the USPS no ads my ass!) Sirius has NFL, NHL, Tons of college stuff, Howeard, and a bunch of other goodies.
both cost the same 12.95
I HATE nascar and dislike baseball, even more so on the radio, Sirius was a no brainer for me.
each to their won. if you want MLB get XM O&A were GREAT on the radio, I miss them, but they wont touch howard.
Start buying and selling XMSR and SIRI and you will learn fast just how well they are both doing =)
SIRI just went up 6% friday. I own about 750 shares of it. WOOT!
