Down in the bottom of this valley is the gate and visitor center

Looking north from that spot. There is a hole in that rock up there.

It's the back side of Lassen.

East from that is this formation (it's called the eye of.... I forgot )

That ^^^ is part of the peak.

On the other side of that hill is were I was headed.

Kings Creek hiking trails.

This is Kings Creek.

My hike that day ended there. The next Friday I resumed the hike to an alpine lake called Cold Boiling Lake.

The lake got it's name from the gas bubbles that come up through it like this.

On the way back out of the park I took these of sulfurous vapors escaping. It was getting dark so the pics aren't that good.

Closer, it's coming out of holes like this one.

And at that same spot is this boiling mud pot.
