Here's one more from Escalante and 2 from Hole in the Rock Rd. in southern Utah. Didn't make it to the end of Hole in the Rock. I was 70 miles off the nearest highway and basically on a rock trail. As I was by myself and am slightly handicapped, I decided going further and possibly breaking down was pretty stupid. Hope to go back there some day with my son along.

One more batch then I have to leave for work out of town for a couple of days. I'll see how the thread is doing this weekend.
The first one was taken near Kayenta, Arizona. Number 2 is from Rollins Pass in Colorado several years ago. The road is the old railroad bed from before the Moffat Tunnel was built. I heard they had a rock slide several years ago and never reopened it. That's a shame. It was a beautiful drive and could easily be done in a regular car. The last is "The Old Woman and Her Cabin", one of the rock formations in Holy City along the east entrance road to Yellowstone.

w0w! This thread has really zoomed along with some great pictures.
I like any combination of water and rocks whether it's waterfalls or a coastal scene.
I met a girl from Maine when I attended college. She was always talking about hiking Cutler Coast area, also known as The Bold Coast.
Maine is like Canada, everyone knows everyone else.
I looked it up and thought I'd share a few stolen images.
My Picture taking skills was discussed earlier in the thread. All my pictures are so dark.
And no, that's not me in the pic...

From the top of Sulpher Mountain (approx 7500 ft abs) looking over the town of Banff, Alberta. If you look close you can see a white spot on the river near the castle looking building; that's Bow Falls...see next set of pics.

Looking down the valley towards Lake Louise, Alberta

This weather station replaced the original that was built in 1905.

Next up is Bow Falls, which as mentioned you can see as a little spec in the above pictures.

Crappy picture of the Banff Springs Hotel...sun was making it impossible to get a good pic

Stock photo I found online of the hotel

Man, I wish I lived near some awesome mountains and rivers and such.
I think the best I can do is like, find a grassy knoll or something.

(Screwy, I'm still too jealous of your flying machine to include you)

Down stream of Bow Falls - crazy rock formations called Hoodoos. Not sure if that's what they're called elsewhere in the world.

When we got back to the car after walking up to the hoodoos, this AWESOME van was in the parking lot. I was very tempted to follow them in their search for vagina.

Just down the road from the hoodoos, we saw this little guy

Last stop for the day. A little lake called Johnson Lake, we walked all the way around it, about 5K

The sun was getting low, and thought this was a cool pic. Looking into the sun throughout the trees on Johnson Lake

One last look at the lake

On the way home, these guys (actually girls) were on the road

This guy wasn't happy that we were taking pics of his women

You're welcome, my pleasure. I took those yesterday and it was beautiful. Good thing too, cuz this morning it did snow just a little.

Fantastic additions! I see quite a few watercolor landscape paintings posted in this thread.
TK back with a few stolen pics from a place I visited forty or so years ago.
This is Fort Mountain State Park. There is an ancient 855 foot rock wall atop the mountain. It was thought to be built by Native Americans for defense or ceremonies. Supposedly the mystery has been solved but the Parks Department ain't talking.
