Great to see you can post again AZ, thanks for taking up some slack for me

So, I've been busy/lazy the last week, but I still took pics

These are of a rainbow I found (yup I looked at the end,no gold)

(when first seen)

Then I drove a few miles...still no gold.....

About 5 miles further...

I guess the barn is golden...

AZ ... the two warning signs, which made you more uneasy ... smugglers or black bears?

Happy Birthday

smugglers...by far. those guys have no scruples. they'll kill another smuggler just to steal his drug load or illegal immigrants. but there were alot of border patrol guys in the area & they even stopped me to check inside my Yukon.

Thanks guys for taking up the slack for me

AZ, I really like the canyon shots !

Horni, I wish I could get bird pics as great as yours

So, a couple of weekends ago I decided to check out the end of the summer run of salmon, this is what I found.

(taken from a bridge over battle creek, ca.) this is one large fish, sadly, dying without spawning (they stop the fish at a hatchery a bit up the creek)

all the same fish...

and...

and, they are talking about taking out the dam above the hatchery so that they can go upstream to the historic spawning grounds !

edit for oops too many pics

The fish is probably in the 30 lb. range and female.

This is the last two of her.....

I took pics of a male that I'll post in Horni's pecker thread

Glad to hear they're doing their job.

And I think the Sandhill's are still up here ... 10's of thousands in Wisconsin. Probably be a couple months yet before you have big numbers.

Notech ... Cool Salmon story, and thanks for saving some shots for my new thread

Here are some fall colors up in Minnesota.

Southeastern MN

Great pics FeFe.

And Notech, the moon shots are really cool.

Here is a moon, not a cool fall harvest one, but just a simple mid-summer full moon. Taken way up in northern Minnesota almost in Canada.

A herd of Bison. Blue Mounds State Park, southwestern MN. I was really far away.
