Ok everyone, all the cards are on the table for both candidates. It's official that Senator John McCain's running mate is Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. So there's of course tons of debate that has already surrounded this decision and many questions arisen. Did McCain only pick Palin because she's a woman and is a ploy to pull all Hilary supporters to his side? Is she really the right choice for the job? Did McCain shoot himself in the foot for harping on Obama for his lack of experience even though Palin is two years Obama's junior? Or is Palin's youth a good contrast to McCain's age? Will McCain win now because he may have overwhelming women support? Or will he not win because our countries good ol' boys will keep a woman out of office? Those are just a few questions I've already been seeing, feel free to come up with you own. Get your thoughts out on the floor.
By the way: I just noticed that the poll got cut off. Let me retype it here so you can see exactly what it says
Poll: What is the more likely reason McCain chose Palin as his Vice President
1. A political attempt to pull all of the Hilary supporters
2. Her youth and high approval rate in Alaska makes her the perfect choice to bring a younger generations view into the white house.
yea I just watched her acceptance speech ,, not impressed

If McCain hoped to pull Clinton's women to his side he should have checked Palin's abortion right's record first. She is staunchly pro-life.
Who?
For Gods sake John, did you change your mind about wanting to be President?

IMHO: McCain is the sacraficial lamb for the Republican party. They are fairly sure they can't win so let's show the country that the republicans are women friendly. I agree that women will vote for a woman no matter what.....I live in MN USA and we elected Jesse to office with a strong womans vote.
You need an option for BOTH.
Pros
She is female and that in many respects negates the whole "vote Obama because he is black" thing.
She has about the same experience as Obama BUT she is the VP candidate, not the Presidential candidate.
She is a MILF (Miss Alaska runner-up in 1984 and a Vogue spread in December 2007).
She has a good record on exposing corruption within her own party.
She vetoed a bill that would have blocked same-sex benefits to government employees, effectively giving them benefits.
She is well known for being independent of the oil companies.
She has a history of pushing reform through, especially ethics and "pork projects"
Cons
She does not have a lot of experience in public service.
Both?
Does not support gay marriage.
Member of NRA
Used pot when it was legal in Alaska, although still illegal under US law
I think in the end it is a good choice. McCain can still attack Obama for his lack of experience as the VP is expected to usually be lesser than the President. Her being a woman can be beneficial, but she is a pretty strong VP candidate even without that, although as a male it would probably have been 4 years before she was considered ready.
She's hot, my penis wants to vote for her.
Political partisanship aside.
MOST of Americans complain about:
"the same politics as usual"
"good old boys network"
"we need a "change" in politics"
You all know I could go on and on. McCain at least has made a big step to try to satisfy this cry from Americans. Its too soon for anyone to say if it was the right choice. He could have picked "a safe choice" Mitt Romney as expected. He didn't. HE TOOK A CHANCE. Right or wrong, I admire his effort to change the way things are running in Washington.
seriousness aside,,,, McCain does have good taste in ladies,,, lol
I've never heard of her, but it sounds to me like the republicans are definitely trying to throw a curve ball at the democrats with a woman as the VP candidate, should make for some interesting political advertisements in the near future...
