I got a ticket also. I heard some nimrod on the radio this morning making the point that because so many people buy tickets when the prize is this large that your odds of winning decrease exponentially. I think that because the only odds involved are the odds of picking the correct numbers out of the available numbers that the odds don't change.

Your odds of winning are always directly proportional to the amount of tickets you have. The pool of combinations does not increase. The only outcome to come from an increased populace is the chance that the winnings will be divided between more individuals.

Edit: what K said about the odds of winning. They stay the same. Te odds of sharing the prize if you do win go up with more participants

Yep. The odds of winning the Jackpot I believe are about one in 175 million. So the difference between buying one ticket and ten tickets are not that different. Not much difference between 1 in 175 million and 10 in 175 million.
