What do you mean? you only need current version of macromedia flash player to see the vids

i just like to preview the video before i spend time downloading the source....my download speed sucks so it takes like 20 min for a a 30 meg video or something.

is it just me or do the downloads not work? When I click on "Download This File" it goes to another page that says "Invalid download link". Mind you, I am not complaining, it is quite generous to donate the bandwidth!

Can someone send me a link to the file that comes up invalid? I know that the downlaod links don't work 50% of the time when using a proxy, are you using a proxy?

Basically, the download links use javascript, and without Javascript, you get errors. Unless theres something else I'm missing. Give me the link that comes up an error and I'll look into it. Thanks.

Also, for video previews, the USER only needs Macromedia Flash, sure, but the SERVER needs to install a ton of codecs and handlers that will convert all uploads into a flash (.flv) format to be watched in a flash video player (.swf). Theres a lot more then meets the eye for those kinds of sites... lots of work for the server to make it very easy for the viewer.

So why not just use one that is already available taking care of all those issues like flixreel...its already doing what you want it too and its free. I did see that dailymotion lets you download the source video too.

anyway....Sweet job on the upload script. I will keep my eye out for the files that show invalid links.

ok. None of the download links work for me. 3 nights in a row. If I choose the page for any of the files on the top 10 (http://upload.grungemedia.com/top.php), and hit the "download this file" button for any of them, it goes to the "Invalid download link." page. Incidentally, I am using IE7 on WinXP.


For example, I choose the #1 downloaded file, "Nesh-chet-eraep.avi" and click download this file and it sends me to "http://upload.grungemedia.com/download2.php?a=51313&b=858faf3d6a1343c135f4f21304a771e4" which says "invalid download link".

You should never see the download2.php url or anything. Try going to that link directly and see if it works. Not sure why it would show you the actual URL.

I took off the ads and just put up a donation link, I think it's more appropriate then ads, since the whole reason for the site was to get away from the annoyances of RapidShare, including ads. So yeah. Ad free! :P
