you know what would be really nice? If you could write a script that would allow mirroring your idea across multiple servers. I too have a lot of extra space & bandwidth I would be willing to donate to WBW, so that no one would have to suffer through rapid share. Assuming I had a good disclaimer renouncing my responsibility when people start uploading copyrighted material.

I currently have two servers, and once this one starts getting filled, I would be willing to add another server. I already have a script that allows this seamlessly. As for allowing other people to donate their servers, I'm not sure I like the idea too much, see, when their on my server, I know it will be reliable, but when on servers I don't own, I can't guarantee that they will stay up. However, mirroring is a definate possibility... I'm jsut not sure how I would incorperate getting every single file copied to a seperate server without using a ton of CPU and exhausting a lot of resources.

Also: I have added formatted links after uploading. You view the standard link, a BBCode version for forums, and an HTML version for sites. Simple stuff really, but saves time writing the ['URL='] stuff.

And finally: I am looking into a different method of uploading, you wouldn't notice a difference, but rather than using the PHP Post method, I could use a direct FTP Upload method, which would hopefully cure the size limitations... we'll see.

Excuse the mess right now, downloads will work normally, as will uploads, however, the whole script was upgraded and it looks like a mess, the guy who wrote the script put his google ads on it despite me paying for it. So I am going to go in and clean all of it up. Thanks for the patience.

Thats how it was made in the script I bought, I'll remove that in a bit when I have some more spare time. Not sure why it's public.

Yep, aiko hit it right on the head. Just compare the anti-rapidshare comments in this thread to the total number of files uploaded there in the last 6 days .... less than 1 upload per anti-rapidshare comment. I may have missed it, but I've yet to see anyone post a link to a video hosted there.

As much as it might not look it, the uploading is going well, although there are only about 30 or so files uploaded, there was over 100GB bandwidth (over 4700 downloads!) used in the last week or so of it being up. 80% of that is all from these forums, so even with only 30 files, it's getting out to a lot of people. Keep it up!

Yeah, I tried something like that, somewhat of a YouTube clone, however, I just couldn't get it working. I installed a ton of different codecs and libraries but it just wouldn't work. If anyone has any insight on this, feel free to contact me, but otherwise, I can't... trust me, I tried for like 5 weeks straight for my last project with no luck. ><
