I am going to go against the trend and tell you that you should definately encourage her to have the child.

You may think it is wrong to have a child in a situation like that but woulnd't you rather be alive in the first place and live in not an ideal situation? You don't have to be the richest person in the world to be happy. I've seen happy families living literally in a desert, living in a dung hut in Kenya.

Make the child part of your life and embrace the fact that you've brought something good to this world

No. My father died from an overdose when I was 3 years old. My sister and I were raised by my mother who is bipolar. Emotional abuse is more damaging then physical abuse alone. I don't think an early term (<9 weeks) abortion is really killing a child as it is still in the embryonic stage. If you are Christian it says in the old testament that the penalty for killing an unborn child is a fine as deemed necessary by the father. The penalty for murder is death. Obviously, an unborn child does not hold the same value as a living, breathing human being. I know this is a controversial subject but this is how I feel.

I'm sorry about this man, keep it up and as people have said, both decisions will end up hurting somebody, either an unwanted child growing up in a difficult world, a girl scarred for life by an abortion or you dude that will have live this situation, keep the faith man things can be shitty sometimes but remember that things happen for a reason and just B STRONG!

Thanks for all the advice. If she has the baby I'm not just going to run away from it. That would probably be the worst thing I could do. It just sucks, I thought she would be on the same wavelength but she's not. I guess that's what happens when you fuck someone you don't really know. She said she already had an abortion and she doesn't want to go through it again. I figured if she already had a couple unwanted pregnancies she would be more careful with birth control. If she had expressed any lack of confidence in her methods I would have gotten a condom. Now, I will always use one.

I feel for you lsdforme, not an easy situation to find yourself in at all. It may sound stupid but are you sure this is your child? If your feelings about this girl are true then I would definately suggest you talk to a lawyer and as BCD says do the best you can to protect yourself. In an ideal world the right to life issue would cover yours as well however If she wont agree to the termination then you might do well to remain a poor student for the next 18 years..sorry dude! Terrible mess you've got yourself into. Take solace..you're not alone and you're not the first person to find yourself in this situation. Go get some legal advice. Yeah, I know I need to grow up. I'm not ready to be a father. That's the whole fucking point, man. When it comes down to it, I'm not going to abandon my child.

Your life will completely change and for the next 19 years she will have you under control. The government does not care if your on the birth certificate or not, you will still have to pay any money she collects thru govt assistance. Sounds like she already has you...do whatever it take to get her to abort- it sound cruel but its better than being fucked in the ass by her and the govt for the next 19 years. DNA test no matter what OK!
