Philosophically I'm against that kind of regulation because the owner of the place really should have the right to determine those rules, but practically I hate smelling like smoke so fuck that noise.

They don't have non smoking bars? Anyplace around here that makes more than 10% of their income off food cannot allow smoking. Some places smudge to cater to smokers but most make you smoke outside.

Smoking in all businesses is banned in Ohio

You can smoke in bars and nightclubs here but not restaurants. Even when I smoked, I didn't mind going outside for a cigarette. I was never crazy about going to really smokey bars. I didn't mind the places that have those air vent machines that filter out most of the smoke though.

They do, and I'm not sure what the ordinance is, specifically, but the place where a bunch of my coworkers wanted to meet up last night makes probably 60+% of their sales on alcohol and apparently allows smoking. Plus the one guy I went to meet up with wasn't even there, so it was just stupid all around. Plus I got roped into taking one of the drunkey girls home because I wasn't drinking, as I drove there and wasn't planning on staying very long.

Smoking isn't allowed in any public place here (and I like to be free from getting smoke in the face/clothes).

The key word is public. A restaurant or bar is a private establishment. While I personally don't like a smoke filled room, it should be up to the owner, not the government, to decide whether or not to allow smoking in a private business.

By public I meant that any place that is susceptible to receive people can't allow smoking. This includes public transports, government buildings but also bars, restaurants, nightclubs etc.
