If Obama is Elected President...

Sad as it is I'm sure there will be some of those crazy people who want to assassinate him. If we shot a white Catholic and then a white Hollywood actor that were President whats to stop the "White Power" folks for taking a few shots? Yeah he'll be protected but protection can fail. If you find someone who hates him enough, is smart enough to execute a plan to kill him that would work, and the guts to do it, then hell Obama is as good as dead.

I don't agree with his policies and ideas but I still think its a shame what this country has gone to in politics. They aren't talking about issues that concern Americans. They're namecalling and saying "HE voted for higher taxes!" "Well He voted to send more troops to Iraq!" The way that senators vote has little bearing, I think, on what they do as President. Also there is reasoning behind how they vote. Higher taxes, in some cases, might be a good thing. Look at France. They pay, roughly, 40-50% of their incomes to the government but what do they get in return? A great public transit system, social healthcare and benefits. The government takes care of its people there. Our government takes care of the government. Yeah everyone go out and vote! It makes a difference! Well sadly it really doesn't make a difference. This is a representative government that doesn't represent the people. They haven't even tried anymore to represent the wishes of the people and now look where we are? The news is talking about another Depression! I'm considering more and more moving to Europe because before long the only place for jobs in this country is going to be in the military and manufaction. We're a military state. We spend money on military and our economy is based on it. Its sad really.

I love this country and what it stands for. I'm disgusted by what this country has become.

All but sunk McCain? Isn't McCain currently leading in the polls and the media is giving all the praise to the selection of Palin? Say what you want about their politics but he did nearly 6 years in a Vietnamese prison camp and he has spent his entire adult life in service to his country.

Personally, I think they are both moderates (Obama and McCain). They were that way before they had to run and now they are just pulling extreme voters back from the poles (yes, as in each extreme side of the spectrum). Neither will do a bad job but McCain clearly has a lifetime of experience and Obama has 3 years as a senator (2 of which he was actively running for president). So, we have Palin and Obama and they don't have nearly the experience. Then we have Biden who, because of scandel, had to back out of running for president once before... There will be no viable 3rd party candidate. I am voting for the guy that has served his country his entire life and has shown great leadership when he was offered early release from prison camp and chose to obide by the POW code and stay for nearly 6 years.

I don't know what you guys have seen but all of the cable news channels I have watched have said that Palin brought life back to McCain's campaign. In fact he temporarily took the lead like 10 days ago. She got him a ton of votes because people in American must like her. I have no other explanation for it, but what else could it be?
