jail inside. has 2 cells. one was for drunks & street fighters, the other for the real bad guys...murderers & such. no indoor plumbing.

Courtland, Az train station. tracks ran to the right of this pic & wood buildings on the left that once included station, barbershop, hardware, apothecary, & one more i can't remember right now. wood buildings & track all were removed once the copper mines played out. damn open range bulls are mean. chased us back to the truck.

up the road to Gleeson...another mining ghost town. this was once the silver queen hotel. baths & hoookers on saturday nite. the earlier you were on the list, the cleaner your bath water & the cleaner your hoooker. lots of card sharks, flim-flam men, & gun slingers passed thru this hotel on their way to Tombstone, Bisbee, & Tucson during it's heyday. of course, the upper wooden part was dismantled & reused somewhere elseonce the copper mines played out.

more silver queen. it was about a 10,000 sq. ft structure just up the street & around the corner from the jail. most miners lived in tents & frequented the hotel on payday. first pic is back entrance for basement-type "services". you can see some played out mines in the background, too.

after a fire destroyed the entire town of Gleeson in 1912, the railroad brought adobe bricks in from Tucson to rebuild the station which also included barbershop, apothecary, etc.

what once was the entire town's water supply. in boom time water was hauled in by mule train 30 miles of rugged mountain road from the san pedro river. & last but not least, the saloon.

Holy shit...very coool man.

I haven't the time to see them all fullsize at the moment...but I definitely will tomorrow.

Great work. I have to get back to something soon, I'm beginning to look like quite the slacker.

@Notech: Slacker.

So to keep Hondawgs thread from a horrible fall I continue,
this is where they cut the logs to usable size.

In the distance is a modern turbine repair shop.

These black walls were intriguing, I couldn't figure out why they were black like a fire had been there?
