most american engines are made for low rpm torque...you can get big hp numbers...but's gonna co$t

American engineers are giong for what will be cheap and long life with little work. Because americans are lazy. I have a 1.3 Mazda putting down about 450 on a 2000dyno jet. I also get 20+ miles per gallon. Now it is turbocharged and intercooled but you'd be hard pressed to find an american motor with that kind of mileage, power and displacement. Well it wouldnt even be possible because mine is a rotary and the japanese are the only ones with the brains to try something different. American autop engineers suck all they know is huge v8's and tons of fuel. Of course it will make big numbers, but it will do it at the cost of gasoline.

buddy ever heard of northstar motors? or the 4.6 supercharged motors? i know tons of cobra owners who would beg to differ

you know Mazda had to go and rework the engine and how long did it take to make it a good engine? was a while between rotary's.

and GM does not own Farrari,

GM owned Fiat who did in turn own Farrari, but GM let go of Fiat this year and has no part of it anymore. Anything that Ferrari did GM had nothing do do with.
