A $20,000 second hand C5 corvette will shit all over your little rice eater, straight line, twisties you name it!
Dont be silly, bar the new Ford GT and possibly from reports ive read the Viper, American cars just DO NOT HANDLE. And im saying that even though I love American motors.

they handle quite well actually...if u know how to drive the god damn things, i guarantee they'll take a corner faster than any import u can name...excluding some of the eurotrash

See how many domestics you can name that can outhandle a 12 year old Mazda RX7, or even the Miata.

just about any cadillac, corvette, some camaros/trans ams, ford gt, any saleen, viper, stealth's

NO camarao comes even CLOSE. The stock skidpad on the best camaro was around .88g's, that ain't going to cut it.
Caddilac XLR is around .90g's
F-Body: .87
05/06 Ford Mustang GT: .87
The stealth (mitsu designed): .91
Those are all pretty sad, just about any import 'sports' coupe will beat those.
Now, the two cars I mentioned:
1994 Mazda RX-7: .98
1996 Mazda RX-7 RS (Spirit R, not sold in the states): 1.00
Miata: .96
Saleen Mustang: .94
Saleen S7: 1.04g
Viper: 1.02
Z06 Corvette: .98
None of the above vehicles has a MSRP of less than $50k. Compared to the MSRP of ~$30k for a late model RX7, that's over 12 years old, I'd say that is awful sad.
So, short of a car that cost twice as much as the RX7 (or more), you'll be very hard pressed to find a domestic that'll do better.
