ah, you live in the US.
im not against firearms, persay, i'm just intrigued by why people would carry them if they really have no need for them.
but yes, it is your right, under the consitution, as an american to carry. is there a threat that is so great you need to carry or is it just cus you like 'em?

I dont carry it yet. I dont have my permit. In my state I can wear it out in the open, but I'm not gonna carry it until I get my concel permit.

a .22 would work just fine, if ya know how to shoot
but id go for a 1911, they're just neat.
me, i dont own a gun and have only been to a range twice, but i have out shot 2 military trained marksmen.

do alot of people carry in that state? is there a big problem with people shooting each other ie.e road rage,"he was eyeing my girl so i capped his arse." etc or is it relatively safe.

No. I live in West Virginia. The state legislature made a mistake in a revision to the constitution several years ago. Due to the mistake it became legal to wear a sidearm in public. For reasons unknown to me the mistake was never corrected. Not a lot of people take advantage of the law, but if you wanted to wear a sidearm in public you could. I don't have a particular reason to wear or carry one if that's what you are asking, but I like firearms, and I had a chance to purchase one, so I did. I plan on carrying mine, but only legally. So, I have to get a permit.

I am not saying a .22 is not a fine weapon. That's why the mob uses them for close up hits. But, as for stopping power it's almost none existent. I guarantee you that if I was coming at you wanting to do you harm that you would have to put more .22 shots in me as opposed to .40 cal to put me down. And, I guess you have never seen the Mythbusters. No gun knocks you back.
