Sidearm's

I'm going to be purchasing my first sidearm soon (I have a .22 revolver but it sucks), and I was just wondering what some of you here had. I have always like 9 mm Barrettes, and of course the .357 semi auto.

Needless to say I am going for a semi, and not a revolver. What do you have, and what do you recommend price wise?

Oh- the .22 was given to me. I didnt buy it. looking for advice on my first purchase

I got a Smith & Wesson SW40VE. It is a 40 cal. semi that was modeled after the Glocks. I really like it. Only problem is that all it has for safty is a split trigger saftey which wouldn't be good if kids were able to get to it. Other than that I really like it. You can also get a 9mm in the same model I'm prety sure. I like S&W and Glock prety well though so i might be a little bias. Hope this helps.

My brother has a 40 cal Ruger. It's a nice gun, but to big to carry all the time.

This is the Sub-compact model. I looked at a 9mm Ruger and didn't buy it for the exact same reason this is a very small gun for the size of the round. The same model comes in a 9mm if not more sizes

It also cost less than any other guns i was interesten in so I think its the best buy out there

My best friend is a police officer and he swears by the Glock. . . The .40 Caliber is the way to go it packs ALOT of punch. It comes in the baby size, medium and full size. There isn't a more reliable gun out there.

While impressive, and surely intimidating I think it's just a tad large to be carried on my belt or in a shoulder holster.

might be a silly question: how come you want to carry a sidearm? is it legal to carry firearms(concealed?) in vanuatu?

Weapons all depend on what your using them for........protection, hunting, or just scaring the living shit outta your friends :P

The 45 stays at home with the 12 gauge......home defense an all. But the 9mm goes with me

Get a Kimber .45 great trigger - cheap ammo and accurate as hell with practice

agree with Walkincoffin! Colt 1911 45 is a great weapon!

Well, If you had mad fighting skills like Chuck then you wouldn't even need a gun. But as I know many of us don't. I recommend either a .40 or .45. Forget about a 9mm. Not enough knockdown for me.
