Noobs, Leachers, Lurkers...And Low Posters...Help.

Dear WBW Members,

We are facing a problem around here in my opinion, and that problem is a lack of community involvement. I need help guys, I need to know why. I need to know why people stopped getting into it in the non-porn part of the site.



I haven't really been around much lately, but I've come back, and while I do see lots of new faces, a lot of them with titties attached to them, it's still not quite as active as it used to be around here.

What I'm asking for, from members like YOU..reading this, is suggestions, thoughts..ideas. I'm curious why YOU are not a bigger part of the site. Everyone likes tits..but like we have a lot of cool stuff going on around here, lots of contests and stuff like that. I'm just curious. I remember a big issue in the first thread:

Which I made awhile back was that a lot of people were afraid of being flamed for being noobs, so, with the help of my then awesomebro Brownell, turned WTG (the flame capital) into a no flame zone. Yet it seems people are still afraid to jump in, and be funny...and entertaining. When they do, it always seems to be sex or adult related.

I'm just curious why you are not a bigger part of the site.

What suggestions would you have for making it better around here?(the non porn parts of the site)

What suggestions would you have when it comes to contests and credit give away situations? Do you like them, ideas.

We need ideas here people...hit me with your thoughts on this.

Also, if you're going to step up..and post, do it now, since I've been known to give out credits to bros that help me out with threads.

I like the site. The flaming and general disrespecting of noobs is sad but hardly unique. This is my first post ever here...I mostly was just nervous.

Free time is in very short supply anymore.

While this is Honda's thread, I'm going to take this opertunity to thank you for making a very important first post. Your feedback is welcomed. Is there anything we can do to make the forum environment less intimidating, so that you wouldn't feel nervous?

There is absolutely no fear of being exposed as a complete douchenozzle on WBW (unless that little secret is already a big part of your real life). Speaking personally, I loves me some beautiful womens, but I actually enjoy the chit chat and exchanges that take place in the Lounge and elsewhere as much, if not sometimes more, than the nekid pictures and such parts of WBW.

If you have never done it you really should take the time to check out some of the amazingly entertaining threads in the Lounge. The HOF thread is a great place to start - http://whatboyswant.com/forum_read/4877239/1/10/The_WBW_Hall_of_Fame.html. Warning - be prepared to laugh your ass off.

My advice is simple, just be yourself... unless of course, you are completely pathetic and lacking any substance whatsoever. In that case, stay safely on the sidelines watching and waiting for the perfect thread that you can confidently chime in on. Once you pop that posting cherry, your confidence should be bolstered enough to do it again and again.

I think I post a fair amount but judging by the number I really don't. I chime in on somethings but certainly spend my time looking at chicks. Perhaps an interface on the margains of the page that would show you an updated list of the new posts in the forum would help, like is on the homepage. I check out the new posts on the home page, and if nothing interests me I move to the chicks and never return to the home page. In my opinion, If there were more opportunities to see what's happening in the forums I would probably find more things that interest me and post more often.

I simply go to the top of the page go to forum and view new posts, I've always thought that was pretty simple...

But I see what you're saying, if it were on the side of the page you'd never have to leave the babes

I chose "Other" but I'm not going to post why! HA-HA!

Don't usually post much because not a lot of the topics going on most given times interest me. When I see one that does I'll say something but really haven't been all that many.

I have to also agree with parts of what dagmar has to say. I myself log into wbw about 5 to 25 times a day. I look at the top forum posts on the home page and if something catches my eye then I will look at it, and and posibly post something in response. But for the life of me after i saw the first spam forum post I just shake my head at any topic named that and move on never to look again. And I seem to see a spam post every day and one is always on top. Sometimes I have seen 2 or 3 or more.

But I, like others hate to be flamed so sometimes I either dont post or will take quite a bit of time to get my thoughts all together before I post just so I dont sound like a total idiot.

But lets face it. This is prodomantly a adult site so therefore most all posts will lean towards sex or adult oriented material or postings. So those will always be the highest posts in my opinion.

And like I said above I just dont want to sift thru pages of junk just to find something if its not good enough to be on the home page I wont go looking for it.

I am not too concerned with being harassed or anything like that. I know my place and respect the pecking order, plus it is a forum and talking trash is part of the fun.

Since I am posting I would like to take a second and say thank you to the WBWCrew and the regular posters that make this site so good. Especially to those of you who share your personal pics, you have my thanks. I have quite a few pics of my girl over the last few years that I would love to share some day. Need her to be okay with it though.

That is a good way to think of what posting is all about, fun, it's all to be taken lightly and the fun just kinda follows, if posting is taken to seriously then ya, you won't have fun...

Yeah, we've been saying to Diz for awhile now that it's kinda, overporned around here, the site was strongest when the community was the strongest..now there is a few hundred thousand people logging on a day, and almost a million members, yet the non-porn part of the site has been heavily neglected. When I signed up this site had a fun, gentleman club kinda feel...hopefully with the next version we maybe just scale the porn back just a wee little bit.

Also, I think I used to use the WBW RSS feed and it allowed me to check on the threads I was interested in.

Yeah, the spam is kinda just a random chat thread...we just kinda shoot the shit. It's actually not so bad once you realize how chill everyone is. A good way to keep an eye on stuff as well is the watchlist...when I was more interested in the porn part of the site, I used to watchlist the Lounge threads I liked so I could go visit them later, then eventually I liked them so much I started kinda hanging out there more often than the porn.

Thanks for posting dude...some people just prefer the tits, and I understand that.. It's just sometimes it seems like members want nothing to do with socializing...which is a shame because we have so many cool men and women on this site just having a laugh.
