I don't think there's a state in the union that hasn't done this, many times. It's common in both state and federal district alignment. Happens with just about every power change, has nothing to do with race and everything to do with party... the lines hold until voters become so disgusted with the current majority that they get voted out and lines are redrawn to make the party strong hold stronger.... and the process repeats itself.

Though this particular example was pretty underhanded, dems are no less dastardly. Politics as usual, and as usual, it stinketh.

Anyone watch the show Bering Sea Gold? I love this show...mostly I starting watching because I love diving, and I though it would be a lot more about the actual diving, and less about the people...but since I started watching, I've become hooked. The people are crazy/awesome, and I find myself cheering for some of them to find gold, and others to fail miserably. There are some truly darwin award moments though...like the time a diver decided to swim a 1/2 mile out to a barge in 36 degree water. Yeah...that didn't work out so well. Lol....I just noticed that he said he needs 5lbs of weight. There is no way he only needs 5lbs. If you've ever dived before...especially in that cold of water, with those thick of wetsuits...no way that 5 lbs would keep you on the bottom. You'd need more like 40 lbs I'm thinking.
