Heh, so after months and months of using some patchwork USB3 drivers, I uninstalled them and then installed the 10.8.2 Supplemental update which contain Apple made USB3 drivers. Now I get the right connection rates, proper hardware listing, and it seems incredible stable in comparison. Heh, had I known I would of made the switch a while ago.

Also the Vertex 4's IOP throughput just seems to smoke my 830s. But their sequential read/writes are still a bit higher (~20MB/s).

Probably move the clean 830 to my MBP as an upgrade from 120GB to 256GB with better read/writes.
