I think people who gain 700lbs, without injury or handicap...just the ones that get fat.

i think we should have universal healthcare and...because oil is so essential the the health of our economy and our everyday life, i don't think oil should be sold for profit. i think the oil industry should be nationalized so we are guaranteed the cheapest oil possible. no more oil company making record profits while we suffer under high oil prices.

i also think we, as Americans, forgot what made us great. What made us great during the 20s and during World War 2 is our willingness to sacrifice for the country. these days, we are all about ourselves. if anyone dares to suggest anything about sacrificing for the country as a whole, they are rediculed as "communists" or "muslims" or whatever politically derogatory terms you can come up with. that's just my opinion.

I was just going to mention that, America pays damn near the least for gas in the entire world. Even in Canada we pay quite a bit more than you guys..so it's not so bad, could be worse and such.

Manmade global warming alarmists bug the hell out of me too ... dismissing any other viewpoint as stupid or "big oil paid you to say that", because "the science is settled". No need for us to have people study the climate anymore. Apparently, we understand everything there is to know already.

I also can't stand environmentalists who want to put every species of plant or animal ahead of us (humans). They act like we are not a part of Natural Selection, and are just interfering with it.

I hate people who make weak arguments full of nonsensical talking points and platitudes. Although, I suppose that's not awfully controversial, so nevermind.

You ever play a poker game with like 3 other guys, and then after like an hour or so, one guy has all the chips and the other three have none? Well, the game ends then. Because in order for the game to keep going, each player has to contribute to it. Nature's sort of like that, except about a trillion times more complex.

And, personally (and this one may be controversial), humans are just another animal. No better than any of the others, no worse than any of the others. As such, decimating lots of other species just because we can is both counterproductive and arrogant. We're not smart enough creatures to understand the full ramifications of our actions, and it's likely we're shooting ourselves in the foot, long term. We, as a species, are like a dog when given a huge pile of food while his owner goes away for a month. He'll sit there and eat and eat and eat until he throws up, and then eat more both making himself sick and running out of food very quickly, because he's too damn stupid to realize that he could eat comfortably for three weeks if he just spaced it out. That's us.

Meh. Lots of middle east countries pay a lot less than we do. Also Venezuela, Nigeria, and a few other oil producers.

I never said that there isn't a place for conservation. I said I hate environmentalists that go too far, basically. I also never said that we as humans are better than other species on the planet.
