Relax ... there are no hairy cocks, and unfortunately, no bitches either(well, maybe an occasional vixen or wolf).

If you haven't guessed, WILDLIFE PHOTOS, that's the purpose of this thread. So, if there are any other geeks out there who like to snap shots of the creatures, post them.

Just a brief description of the photo is all that's needed (species, where you took the shot). If you don't know what type of species it is, maybe someone can help you ID it.

So here we go ... here's your beaver, tit and pecker.

American Beaver - Monticello, Minnesota, USA

Black-capped Chickadee (i believe they refer to them as tits over in Britain) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Hairy Woodpecker - Minneapolis, MN

I see the Aussies approve, thanks Thumper and Joey. You have any pics? Would love to see some wildlife from down under.

Here's a few more ...

Black Bear - Grantsburg, Wisconsin, USA
A mother and 2 cubs ran directly in front of my car, I quick jumped out and snapped a shot.

Red-shouldered Hawk, Juvenille - Forest lake, Minnesota, USA

Sharp-shinned Hawk - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
Was eating a Northern Cardinal in my backyard (not much left of the cardinal)

Leroy ... nice Croc pics, thanks for adding to the thread. Why the hell is it reaching up? Is someone dangling some food above it perhaps?

TK ... thanks, surely you must have some to add also.

Ok, here are some Bald Eagles. All were taken in the United States, southeastern Minnesota on the Mississippi River.

Cool, would love to see some more. Seems like you and myself are the only posters. I guess there's not many out here who like to take wildlife pics.

Here's some pics from when I was out in California last May.

Anna's Hummingbird - San Diego, California, USA

Harbor Seals - Morro Bay, California, USA

Brown Pelican - Santa Monica, California, USA

I knew you'd come through. That is a beast of a Heron. The lighting may be playing tricks on me, but that might be a Great Blue Heron, instead of a Louisiana(or Tri-colored) heron. I could be wrong, but either way, nice pic!

Notech ... sweet hummers, and the creatures do not need peckers to qualify

Zulu ... I'd love to see some UK wildlife

I'll go with your call on the heron. I was told by a guy from Louisiana that it was a LA heron. He was not a bird expert. He wanted me to do a watercolor painting for him. I do have some Great Blue, Green Heron and various Egrets stashed away somewhere.

@ notech - yes, I'm still trying to find my old 35mm slides. I put them in a safe place, maybe my kids will find them when I go to the Great Innernetz in the sky.

I assume you must be referring to South Americans, because certainly you know us North Americans are just too important in this world

Also, there are no pic standards. I have tons of pics of all different qualities. Post what you have, especially when it comes to birds of prey, I love those shots. Kites and Sea Eagles(which is a damn good photo) are animals that I don't get to see in my neck of the woods, so I'm happy you put them up. And the crocs ... awesome, good humor too!!

Now, some backyard beasts. All taken in my backyard near Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

House Finches - Just as fierce as those Crocs, look at the horns on those evil, Damien like young ones

American Robin - Not happy with just a grape, the carnivorous glutton takes a worm also

American Goldfinch - Stares right through you

Here's a cupla buffs. They're really bison but early settlers called them buffalo. AKA American buffalo

This was taken at Yellowstone National Park in the early '90's.

TK - cool shot, I need to get out to Yellowstone someday. Bison, they must look gigantic when you're that close? I've seen them from a long distance before. There is a herd at Blue Mounds State Park in southwestern Minnesota, but I couldn't get very close.

I was in the Kansas City area a couple weeks ago. Me and the wife checked out a couple of parks and such. Didn't really get any good pics, but it was a cool area. Best ribs I've ever eaten at Mama Joes.

Ok here are the pics

Some sort of Box Turtle (might be a Three Toed Box Turtle) not really sure - La Cygnes, Kansas , USA

A snake. No clue as to what kind. It was small, probably 24 inches at the most, and skinny. La Cygnes, KS

And, just thought I'd throw another turtle pic in here.
Spiny Softshell Turtle and a Carp. Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
