Cool pics Notech!! The old telephone pole platform nest ... a common nest site for ospreys. I would love to see some young raptors first flights. Only problem is, the telephone poles are usually adjacent to the highways. Would be a bad spot (the highway) for a young osprey to rest after taking that first flight. Oh well, the good (numerous manmade nesting sites) outweighs the bad.

The one that did make it's first flight dipped and dove and then made a glide over the creek that flows out of the lake.
I wish I would have had my camera out then

It was great to see! This is a very rural site and the road isn't well traveled.

^^ Me neither

Here's some pics I used as reference for paintings. They were on a CD for that purpose.
Thought I'd pass these along.

First up is a Wood Duck. The first time I saw one of these at a park, I seriously went WTF.

I didn't go anywhere, but I did manage to take a few pics in the backyard this summer.

Here, I received a few hummers near my wife's bush ...

Female Ruby-throated Hummers that is ... at the Butterfly Bush.

Cool hummers!

I didn't leave you out while grabbing images from the Okeefenokee Swamp.

Here's some regulars that inhabit this wildlife refuge.

This is a Snail Kite. They are rarely spotted in South GA. I only saw one while taking a back road.

Dude ... did you snap those pics? The Red-tail eating the snake? And the frog eating a salamander or some sort of lizard? If so, nice work.
