u have to remember becoz fuel is so cheap in america they build them with tanks so big u only need to fill them once a year.so in effect they build them with big engines to pull the fuel tank along.so when you go round corners the fuel leans to one side and pulls the rest of it to 1 side!

If you've ever watched Top Gear, you know about this, but they state multiple times that the reason american car companies suck is b/c of the lack of competition we have here. In England, they have dozens of car companies making the same class of car, Fiat, Citroen, Puergot(sp?), Vauxall (yes a GM company), etc... they have more competition, competition breeds better cars, better build qualities, and cheaper prices, here the Big Three have artifically limited the market and we're left with just the big car companies like the big three, toyota, nissan.... look at it this way... if you want to buy a 4 door big sedan, in europe you have the choice of probably 30+ cars... here you have maybe a dozen choices

besides i think now most american cars are made to be what we need since cost and fuel economy take such a front seat in many car purchases. so, maybe my chevy cobalt SS has a shit engine, but it's fuel economy is 28mpg and that made it worth the buy.

I have to agree. our autos suck, but i have to point out that Americans mostly don't make their cars, if you have a car from ford or gm, pop the hood and most of the parts say "heche en mexico" or "heche en brazil"

we make toyotas and hondas now

When you see a Ford or GM vehicle, all you're really see is a vehicle made my the cheapest labor the corporate offices of Ford and GM could find, The only thing American about these company's vehicles are the branding tags on the car and the corporate greed of the companies' owners.

I thing European vehicles are great, except for yugo, but your automanufactures are starting to play the same game as ours. Mercedes-Benz (thier US affiliate), when faced with fines (in the millions) buy the US for selling vehicles in the US that didn't meet EPA regulations, decided at tax time to declare their fines and legal fees for this violation as 'cost of doing business'. IRS spotted this little oop-see and made M-B pay up. (I'll have to PM the source for this as I don't have it on hand).

It states it pretty good. Last time I checked under the hood of an Accord, it said "Made in Japan". Acura has different models than EDM and JDM. Those USDM models are backed up in the states, but the versions we're having here don't have anything to do with USA.

GM did a brilliant job with Vectra B, for fucking up the construction and budget. Too bad lots of people lacks the information and blames opel for making a shitty model.

And GM doesn't design, invent and make all the work for Opel or Saab. They do stuff by themselves too. Rüsselheim is there for a reason.

The only problem with American auto makers is having to pay some dumb-sack-of-ready-to-strike-at-any-moments-notice-shithead 40 dollars an hours on top of a full benefit package to put a windshield in or screw a nut onto a bolt. Thanks, unions, for 50 thousand dollar cars with 5 thousand dollars worth of parts!

No other country can make a truck as good as an american truck.
