Who is in Charge of Tagging?

damn you have decoded EL's tagging methods? I just randomly tag pics so you'll be really successful if you can figure out the method to my madness because there is no method.

To be fair, it helps that he was one of the first (if not THE first) tagger, that he did a few ten thousand of them (like multiples of ten thousands) and that I raid his favorites a lot because he collects hot girls, so I see his tags fairly often.

I raid your favorites too, Swiss, for the record. I just don't know whose are whose any more, but back when Eric was pretty much the only tagger, it was easy to start recognizing his habits. Now there's apparently like a dozen or so. Maybe more.

Yeah, I doubt I could pick many other people's out now, since I no longer have the benefit of knowing who tagged what. When Eric was the only one, it was pretty easy to see patterns. That's no longer the case, though. Also bear in mind that while I normally give two shits about a given feature, I've been really excited about tags for at least a year before they actually worked so I watched it all pretty closely.

PS: Eric tags most of his favorites (I do the same thing). You don't. That makes it easier for me to see how he does things too.

Like I said, I was pretty excited about the tag feature. I've been watching it pretty close for quite a while.

Yeah, I know, I just wanted to give Tarquin the thread.

It may end up like herding cats though. Everyone has their own take on tagging but it may be good to discuss shady areas.

Hair color, and tit size are two. Does shaved mean bald or trimmed? Bikini top with shorts should probably mean adding halter top to list because it's not a bikini without the bottom.

Or just carry on and tag with what's on the list and hope for the best.

So, it's not a shoe if there's only one? Or if only one is in view?

it has two parts to make a whole unit.


My only issue is some babes have a halter top on that I've seen tagged as a bikini. They are wearing shorts or a skirt instead of a swimsuit bottom. No big deal.

I don't intend to split hairs or shoes. There's too many images to tag to get bogged down in minutiae.

You are right about there being no glam, glitz or gold. You also lose your ability to accrue credits for tagging.

I just took on the role of a tagger myself and now I'm curious about some things.

I've been putting bikini for a chick clearly wearing either just the top or just the bottom but I suppose if we go by TK's technical term for bikini that would be incorrect.
Also, this may be dumb, I'm guessing tits-xxlarge is larger than tits-huge but that could really depend on how one defines the word huge so I don't know which one is meant to be larger.

I had no idea of that. I thought the bikini top was called the bikini top. I didn't know what the bottoms were called (bottoms?).

I thought the two together was a bikini, and each one was referred to individually if separately, so I've been marking anything bikini-ish bikini, or if I can't tell, I call it a bra.

And yeah, it seems minor. Until one remembers there are over 1 million pictures on this site and several taggers that are tagging the shit out of everything. Any one misunderstanding is going to leave a lot of work for someone eventually. It's much smarter to get on the same page now rather than re-write the pages (and clear off the errors and then apply the correct tags) later.

Probably why we need this type of thread.

I wish now I'd just kept my mouth shut. There's nothing so small that it can't be blown out of proportion.

A hundred years from now no one is going to remember the fearless taggers who first hit the beaches.

I'll just do my best and hope it's good enough. If someone changes my tags, I ain't gonna get all butt hurt or nothin'

My general rule of thumb wrt the bikini issue.


The above would be tagged "Bikini" AND "skirt."

Similarly, chicks who are topless on the beach, unless they're wearing some kind of one piece that's been curled down, which I don't think I've ever seen, is "Bikini" and "Topless" -- and if you reverse it, say, a chick wearing the above outfit but without the skirt, and instead her birthday suit, would similarly be "bikini" and "bottomless."


Due to the limited descriptive nature of the tags, sometimes it's best to just go with a "what fits best" approach. For example, there are a shitload of pics here tagged with the "cocktail" tag, because we don't have separate "beer" "wine" "margarita" "7 & 7" or "virgin mudslide" tags. And we shouldn't, because it then makes tagging things ridiculously tedious, and as such, unlikely to be done by the average member - and thus useless.

TK's "technical term" doesn't exist. A bikini is a bikini. Only showing half of it doesn't disqualify it from existence. I don't only own a fraction of a car because I only see it when I go outside. Neither do I only own my car every Saturday when I drive to the grocery store.

Generally halter top is synonymous with "tanktop" for which we have a tag.
