I remember a thread a few months back made by Pac-man really bashing another member. He made the thread pointed directly at the member for a comment made in another thread made by Pac-man.
Then he was really scolded by other members and some crew alike. It seems that most with comments like his are because they have screwed up in the past, caught, and told not to do it again.
Just like a child with their feelings hurt, they take threads like this to try and save face and get back at the ones who scolded them
yea, that may be the case with him. now he uses that feedback-thread as an opportunity to blame the crew, and cant face the fact that if he has been owned by the mods before, it was only because he was wrong to begin with.
now, this post of his is out in the open. we'll surely see if other ppl will join his views about us...
@ vic - about his comment, i do monitor posts and answers of moderators in the feedback section, i really havent seen anything like he is speaking about
we all get a little heated in arguements the same as those members do it. they just think we have no right to do so, even though THEY do, because we're mods.
if its happening where i cant see it then i havent heard of it, which is the members own fault. if people report it to me i always deal with it, and talk to the moderator.
about the lounge being dead, we're working on that.
to be quite honest im sick of talking about it and im not going to waste any more effort discussing it with anyone, mod or not (except for maybe latino). this is nothing against anyone else. but id rather spend time thinking up new thread ideas, then debating, discussing, and complaining about the activity in the lounge.
i really dont think much has changed at all, we have always had people who make threads like this in the feedback forum and we always will.
people just want there 10 minutes of fame on the soap box to feel like theyre standing up "for the people".
whatever. we deal with it as it comes, im not concerned about it. dont let them talk you into some dramatic state of mind that all of wbw is "on its last legs" and currently sinking into the ground from which it has no return.
whatever, again.
lol, punly, good point also.
i have never believed that any mod-doings has part of ppl being less active or leaving the place.
this thread was made by me because pacman's post was sooo anticrew spirited, that got me wondering how many ppl may see us that way...
and fefe; i totally feel for you about the lounge and not wanting to chat about it rather than contributing there.
and, we have discussed about the lines of modding before. regular members didn't feel wbw is (or was) overmoderated at all.
yeah well i thought about that when making the decision
but you know what? for a LONG time thats the way we did it, and members that wanted to know why their thread was removed contacted the mod for that sub forum. it worked just fine for a long time.
just like picture and movie uploads we have never promised or said that we would allow ANY threads to stay no matter what.
i think when you weigh out the pros and cons id much rather have shit cleaned up and not a /getnew/ full of locked bullshit that shouldnt be there and we dont need anyways.
lets keep it clean, and quality for our members.
agreed.
have any of you seen another webforum with so many locked threads ? i haven't.
IMO it isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. I have never had a bad thought toward a mod for any reason. When I first got here I was bashed a few times, called a n00b, etc. I didn't let that stop me from posting and actually becoming a contributing member of the site. From all the forums I have been to since I started coming here thats the way it's been for all of them. The older contributing members having a little fun at the new members expense. True some people take it to extremes but 9 times out of 10 they are joking. Another thing the members don't realize is how much work it is for the mods inside the forums, if something is reposted countless times or if something is clearly not allowed and it's in the rules then that takes extra time away from the mods to actually enjoy the perks of being a mod. Not really sure if this has anything to do with the thread topic, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in on everything. If I can think of anything else I'll be sure to post again.
The deficiencies with V5 tend to make me grumpy and less helpful, other than that...
