What the FUCK!! They just bashed Obama for not wearing a helmet on his bicycle.. Come on Americans, get a fucking grip. How many of you whore a lid on your bike when you were little. I'm no genius but I'm sure that by now, our president can ride is god-damn bike without bumping his lil noggin. They didn't yell at Kennedy for not wearing his lid in the convertible.. I'm a bit annoyed at stupidity right now!!!

*edit*
The second option should have read, "I too am a dumb-fuck, so I'm OK with the crap" but I ran out of poll room.
So just add that to the second option if you so choose to choose that option..

To All The Survivors of the 50's, 60's & 70's!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or
drank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can,
and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or
cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air
bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a
special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and
NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and
then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes.
After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve
the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video
games at all, no 99 channels on cable, dvd movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no personal computers, no
Internet or Internet chat rooms...WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there
were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did
not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would
happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was
unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers,
problem solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have
been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we
learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL.

And YOU are one of them! CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.

And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will
know how brave their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

Even though Obama is worthless as tits on a boar hog, I can understand how folks would be terrified of something happening to him. With Biden and Palousy waiting in the wings, this country will go from being in trouble to flat out screwed. The O wants to move America toward socialism, those other two nut bags are flat out communists.

Well that was different. Back in those days the media was not owned by the ruling party. Taking shots at Bush was not only approved but it was encouraged. Now we have a socialist state mentality going and criticism of the regime will be dealt with harshly. To criticize Obama is to be racist and intolerant. We all must bow at the feet of the chosen one.

Rainbowdemon, very well said.

Wearing helmets on bicycles is ridiculous. If you fall, don't land on your head ... that simple.

Thanks, but I can't take credit for that. But it's pretty much the truth!! Got it in an email a long time ago.

that is just retarded...
#4189505
Not trying to ruin anybodies fun her, but the President is supposed to set an example for all generations of Americas. I for one live in a state with laws that say minors will wear helmets while riding bikes & if you dig real deep I am sure you will find the Government recommends it. I have never sent my kids out without one for a bike ride. Shit when i was a kid, i cold have really used one like once or twice.... No tickets for me 'cause I to lazy to buy my kid a helmet
#4189506
With all due respect the whole JFK helmet comparison is not only lame but not called for! As far as Obama I wish we could be that lucky. Seriously I see what your saying and yes what the hell has happened to us!!

If the dawn of man had the same government interference as we do now we would still be living in caves, dragging women in for sex and beating each other with large sticks and throwing stones.

Rainbowdemon is right, we survived our own stupidity and thrived.

Now we want handouts after govenment forcibly takes it from the producers.

New poll.

Which is more ignorant:
the above regurgitated diatribe demonstrating no original thought from hadenough, or the complaints about Obama not wearing a helmet (note: Repubs without life preservers on in boats, hunting without bullet-proof mask)?

Tough call.

Hm. Well I don't live in America, so not entirely sure of all the exact laws, though I imagine a lot don't differ too greatly from my own country that Honda and I share with roughly the population of California in a country larger than U.S.A (not including U.S.A's territories, then they are likely equal). Anyways. I am pretty sure that it is a law here that you must wear a helmet while riding a bike, and I know a few people, including family, that are very happy they have been wearing one when cars do stupid shit like assume that no bike/cyclist will be going over 50km so if they see one in the distance, start to turn, not realizing they are turning into an on-comming bike lane, etc. That aside, the media stations in all of North America are owned by 3 HUGE media corporations, that will find everything and anything about anyone from the lowest celebrity to the President to cause controversy, and therefore make a story. Harping was bound to happen. Obviously something like helmet wearing is NOT an issue, just something some people made into one. I don't really get the whole point of this thread really when it comes down to just understanding politics/media will always find shit to do. "Shit" because used as both the topic and an explitive at the same time. =)

You have a valid point about those commie looney-tunes waiting in th' wings...I'm not too worried about what's liable to happen if some bad fate should befall our little muslim-sympathizing socialist prez...I've been too concerned of late about what's happening with him IN the Oval Office...
McCain was far from being my preference for our next national leader, but I never trusted the silver-tongued neophyte from Chicago, and I could not sleep at night if I had to constantly remind myself that I had actually voted for him...I have enough trouble sleeping because of the things he's done, what he's doing, and (God forbid!) what he wants to do...
My fondest wish is that he is a one-termer...and that sanity and a balance of the two parties is restored to Washington in the next two election cycles...He liked to talk about HOPE and CHANGE... Now just seven months on the job, and a majority of American voters say they HOPE for a CHANGE in 2010 and 2012. Of course, if the Aztecs were right, we have little to worry about...because the curtain is coming down on 12/21/2012...But nobody really believes THAT...right?
