My major occupational hazard as a locksmith, aside from retard customers, is a good case of the crabs. Think about it, I have to sit in other people's cars frequently and they sometimes don't have the best hygeine. Old, cracked seats in some Buick are usually a dead giveaway that you're going to get bugs from sitting in the car. Also if the car smells like fucking BO. The best way to prevent this is to take a carpet sample, spray it with bug spray and then put it between your ass and the seat. Or you can spray your pants with Raid (a US brand of bug spray) when you put them on in the morning. Other than that, maybe some minor cuts on the hands now and then. I haven't had crabs in years.

None now, but when I worked at a plating shop I worked around hydrochloric and phosphoric acid, chrome plating tanks, which is some nasty shit and various other harsh chemicals.

Suppose the dodgey electronics + leaks in my workplace are the worst, customers arent too much of a hazard, although if they had brains they might be dangerous :P.

Work in the Sony Centre.

dont have a job now, but when i did

cleaning chemicals. I didnt know that some got on my hand, and my was raw for the last 2 weeks of work, and is just now getting back to a normal. (1.5 weeks)

heat. burns and such. especially on the thighs and groin. ya get used to burned fingers fairly quickly, but man a good shot of heat to the groin never becomes an easy thing to take. especially infront of females and old folk because you cant react, just gotta feel and smell the burn and continue on.

I make pizza....there is always people getting burned on the 500* oven and the pizza screens when they come out. My roof also leaks and presents a large scale slip hazard. Someone at another store got themselves caught in the oven conveyer chain.

Icy floors, high levels of CO2 in the air, high levels of NH3 in the air, idiots who don't understand that you can't always go flat out on a pallet jack or forklift. Getting arrested after I finally bash my supervisor's head flat with a crescent wrench.

I assemble gauges. About the worst thing I could do is stab myself with a screwdriver. The supervisor is a big bull dyke, but that's another discussion.

I drive a hyster in a mill of about 2000 people. There's always the fuctards that come off of break and walk out in front of you talking on there cell phones. I hate those bastards. I swear, I wanna hit someone everyday. Just knock the holy total fuck out of them and then fork the cell phone up their ass. That'll teach um.

Other than that, there's a possibility of dropping shit. Dropping tubs and skids and having shit land on me. Or flipping my hyster. that'd suck. that'd suck bad.

Anyways, othere than that, it's totally cool.

Is Raid an American brand? Kewl, that was new to me, always thought it was British.

Typical problems programmers get are the same things as for any office worker, i.e. anything you get when you sit next to a computer 8 hours a day (a lot more than that in my case). Usually stuff with wrists and neck.

as a former ski instructor: out of control boarders/skiers. for some fucked up reason the jacket was a target!

as a former model maker: some of the glues were pretty narly. even the paints, as well. machines like table saws and the like. oh, and don't get me started on the fucking architects! they should come with a health warning.

now...um, let me dwell on that some more.

i suppose getting run over by the noobs at work when i'm off my jeep - we drive forklifts - fast and furious like. i work with music/bands part time, i suppose alcohol poisoning is the major hazard there (free beer is always part of the deal)

why would a locksmith need to be inside of a car?
