A lot of customers that complain about my prices drive up in Mercedes SUVs. Can they easily afford my bill? Yes. Do they want to pay it? No.

Well i never said anything about complaining to the actual company you're paying the bill to. I just said that i think it's ok to pay your bill and still think it sucks.

The boss took us out to an early lunch and a nice glass of wine later I am more amenable to this. I guess I've worked jobs at several engineering/maufacturing jobs so I am familiar with what it really costs to build products whether they are consumer goods or aircraft. I've been pretty lucky that way for someone my age.

What I really like is vigorous competition and not many states seem to have that. I do know that my friends in Chicago have a choice of four electrical power producers. Interestingly they differentiate from each other by service plans etc. and if the generation of the power is "green".

A choice in electrical service providers would be nice. I'm not holding my breath on FPL giving up their monopoly any time soon though. My city is is one of the few in my county who has begun negotiating with other waste management services to try to get a better price on trash pickup. One company (cough...mafia) has held the county contract for so long, they were pretty much charging whatever they wanted. More than half of my current water/utilities bill is for trash service.

And eh, I was kinda tired earlier today. But I'm okay. I fell asleep early last night and only woke up 3 times, I think. So I got 4-5 hours of sleep.

Choices in power companies? Damn that would be nice. When I built my house it was built over the dividing line between two power companies, AEP in the front and a rural co-op in the rear and barn. The builder had all the temp power run, box installed, wiring started, under AEP, when a rep from the co-op (much more expensive) showed up and declared that the bulk of the load was on their side of the line and they forced us to switch. Not happy. We have extended, and much more frequent than AEP neighbors, outages.

I'm with F in that competition is virtually always a good thing.
