I will debate with anyone regarding strength of conferences or schedules. Teams in the Big 10 are playing legitimate teams (no North Texas, Florida A&M, and other schools no one has heard from except in movies) week in and week out, year in and year out. Not hard to imagine teams #1 & #2 in this conference pitch....it's the toughest conference in NCAA D-1 football. DocBrewski and I will be drinkin' in celebration on Saturday for our National Championship bound Buckeyes!!!!

Thats why if you play in the SEC they give you extra points in the BCS because they know it is the toughest... they don't do that in the Big 10... um wonder why I just can't wait unitl a school like Rutgers wins out and complains about not being in the nation championship and gets stuck playing a team like auburn and gets blown out.

does anyone else recall west virginia vs. georgia last year? and to say that all of the SEC plays spread ball is dumb as well. do auburn and lsu do that? i dont think so. urban meyer and spurrier do that. that said the SEC is the toughest conference, but they rarely win a national champ because it is too hard to get through undefeated. big ten is a close second. as a student at the ohio state university and probably the only one talking here who will be at the game, buckeyes by 3. and michigan fans please support lloyd carr so that tressel can continue to drop his balls in lloyd's mouth

And yes i do say we because i am the a faithful OSU student with a ticket. only way i will not go to that game is if someone is willing to cough up 2 grand for the ticket. any takers??

SEC is by far and a away the toughest conference in the country. The reason teams in the SEC struggle on the National Championship scene is because it is extremely rare that an SEC team go undefeated through regular season and if you do manage to do that your team is soo beat up and injured it is hard to go up against schools that have cupcake schedules. And at the moment the Razorbacks are wihtout a doubt the best team in the SEC. Doubt they make it to NC game, but it could happen if the cards fall right.

Michigan by 14, OSU doesnt show up to play ball and gets caught with thier pants down.

The SEC has 3 national titles since 1996: Florida, Tennessee and LSU. Throw in Fla State and Miami (not SEC but same region) and you have most of the titles of the past 10 years.

Does that ND fan not understand that ND isnt in the picture? They will get beat by USC and that will be loss number 2 for ND. They wont even get a good bowl.

that distinction goes to the SEC. those schools beat the shit out of each other every week, and there's barely a saturday that comes where the low-end of the conference doesn't come in and upset a highly ranked opponent on the high end. USC is good. OSU is good. Mich is good. But you put them in a conference like the SEC and there's no way they go undefeated playing Ga. Tenn. Fla. Bama. LSU. Arkansas. Hell, even Vandy and Kentucky and S. Carolina will step up and knock off a powerhouse. That simply does not happen with any regularity in the Big10...Mich St? Indiana? Purdue? Illinois? Northwestern? Occasionally those school have a stellar year. but they are not capable of being spoilers every year, as are the lower-tier SEC schools.
Nothing against the Big 10...great schools in OSU, Mich, Wisc, Iowa, PSU and occasionally Minn. All would survive well in the SEC. but they wouldn't survive as they do in the Big 10.

do you not remember the first game of the season?? USC kicked the shit out of arkansasthey were ranked as having the toughest schedule this year, that's why they jumped to #3 in the BCS. FIGHT ON 'SC

im going to put money on notre dame beating usc. actually i will probably bet the over since neither team plays very much defense. and flybry why on earth would i include florida state and miami? so what if they are in the same reigon. after the bucks win the championship this season we will have 3 in ten years as well. and i already said the sec is better so what is there to talk about here. ohh and if you add usc to the big ten, since they are in the same country, we have even more championships
