No, the wealthiest 3 percent of people in the world today would not be able to reclaim their wealth if they were started on an even playing field. In fact, Chances are good that they'd end up in a drug-infested neighborhood riddled with drive-by shootings and gangs, the way most of the other 97% of the United States did, and would probably be too worried about not getting gang-banged that night to call their investment banker friend at Harvard and check up on the daily gossip that can lead to million dollar profits.

Among other completely absurd, ill-thought, and ignorant comments in this thread. I mean holy shit man...

That's exactly why I don't come to this part of the community actually, and it has served as a good reminder why I shouldn't bother.

That's pretty much why I never looked at that thread before a brief look today. And the last posts were too much for me lol
And you are right about the wealth not being reclaimed so easily as studies have shown that wealth isn't mainly created by work but by legacy.

Once again, ignorance wins though. And keeping people ignorant is also a choice (either by ignorant themselves or people leading them).

Omuh, Nothing you say has any substance. That fact about the 3% reclaiming the wealth again has been backed by every major publisher over & over again with facts to back it up. The only thing I didn't mention was it pertained to the self made ones not the inherited wealthy.
Keep your ghetto side out of mature topics you know NOTHING about...

Do you really think illegals are applying for health care? Do you really think they're going to doctors regularly? They want to be in the US under the radar, so they aren't going to be drawing attention to themselves by going to get a flu shot.

And seriously??? 3 people working to support 7 that don't? You really think those numbers are real?? You're out of your mind if you think its a 3 to 7 ratio. Its more like 93 people working to support 7 that don't....unless you're counting kids, students, and retired people. Yeah...screw them, they don't need healthcare, I mean, the old man who worked for a crappy paying job like coal mining for 50+ years, with no benefits, and is now on a fixed income...he doesn't need healthcare.

I live in Canada, and while we don't have the percentage of illegal citizens here, we certainly have them, and you know what...our healthcare system works. Its maybe not the greatest in the world, but it works, and you know what sort of premium I pay for it? Zero. Now, I'm not naive enough to believe that its free, I'm paying for it with my income tax, but I've been unemployed, and I've been a student, and I've also made $80,000 a year...and guess premium is always the same...Zero. And if I had MS, it wouldn't matter if it was a prexisting condition or not, I'd still be covered. So don't give me the BS that you can't do it in the US with charging an additional premium. It can be done but as soon as someone suggests that the working population pays for the non working population you get your panties in a bunch and say that everyone should pay their own way. The simple fact of the matter is that universal healthcare does work, you just don't want to do it.

Lastly, don't question my intelligence again, I'd prefer you left this as a civil debate and not point fingers and call people names, I'm above that, I trust that you can be too.

Am I really having this debate with an Unemployed, freeloader that doesn't even support herself??
That explains your thoughts clearly. By the way the 3-7 ratio of workers to non was just an example for you to understand. That wasn't a factual figure. Just so you know the wagon example was too...
I won't question your lack of intelligence now that I see where they come from...

Maybe because you ignored my first post that was about the subject and only replied to the sidenote that was only a general thought to reply to Tarquin's comment.

Also, thanks for your aggressiveness.

Nothing our government does makes any sense, after all, why should anyone that makes a lot of money be expected to take care of anyone that isn't willing to try and take care of themselves...

Maybe rather than dumbing things down so a stupid girl can understand it, you should stick to facts.

Fuck you. Like I said before, you know nothing about me, but I guarantee you that I could debate circles around you. Again...don't bother discussing any of the points I brought up in my post previous to this...just insult people and back peddle on the things you said before.

I have done nothing to antagonize you. I have a different opinion than you, and simply engaged you in a debate about it, but you can't do that, instead you want call people stupid because they don't agree with your opinion. So unless you have anything else to say, something that isn't an insult, something thats constructive, then I'm done talking about healthcare with you.

I have answered every point you tried to make. You are the one who said you are unemployed & get FREE healthcare.....That equals not supporting yourself from anyones point of view. FACT!!
I can now see clearly why you say "your system works" because you DO NOT pay for it, someone else does. You say you pay for it with income tax....You are unemployed!!
One thing is true, you do debate in circles but the F U was cute. I see why you are unemployed.
Good luck with the job hunt, I hope you find something soon.

Single provider service is the ideal in my opinion. Hopefully the fears of the radical right will come true in this country and we will go to a universal plan. `

That said, I hate discussions like this because after a couple of exchanges the signal to noise ratio goes totally haywire and both entertainment and enlightenment disappear.

Bravo. I thought that one was pretty laughable as well. You would think such a situation would have had to have occurred multiple times already for the OP to even consider making such a bold (and ridiculous) claim.

I feel like Ronald Reagan's extreme example of the rare "welfare queen" has managed to really stick around in peoples' fears in an irrational way. Sure, there are freeloaders. But the majority of people who use government assistance work. Few people wake up and decide that life being poor and asking for handouts is the best choice. The income gap, even for those who work full-time, have made it so assistance is a necessity and for the vast majority of folks, has nothing to do with laziness.

I love how there is a segment of the United States' population that believes everyone who can't afford healthcare is an unemployed, lazy, waste of space who is just trying to milk the system. Here's some news for you. If you own a small business (Like me) and you have to pay private health insurance, you better hope your business makes millions (very few small businesses do). For me to afford anything but the most basic of emergency room coverage would mean I'd have to move out of my apartment and live under a bridge because I wouldn't be able to afford rent. I am 34 with no prior medical history and I don't smoke. It must be nice to work for a company that foots the bill or have enough money to actually afford the ridiculous costs but for people like me, who own businesses and put in 50+ hours a week, it's impossible. Please come to my shop and tell me I'm lazy and not working hard enough.

If the people who fall for the "welfare queen" analogy actually saw how much corporate welfare our government dishes out to billion dollar industries, they'd shit the bed. There is a HUGE problem in America and guess what? It's not the poor people.

Yes, it's back to the argument that socialism is for the rich and not the poor. In other words, the tax code has been effectively manipulated for decades to provide benefits for industry ( in particular) and the wealthy. ( Cause they provide jobs.....yeah right.)

The green energy industry has become a joke for the right, but they fail to look at the tax structure for the fossil fuel industry and how it has been subsidized by tax dollars for years. Exclusive of any justifiable economic reason, these things exist for the benefit of the few at the cost of the many.
