Well at least the guy, if guilty, has some hope left to reform and fly right if he evermanages to put this behind him. If he were a genuine molester, oh Jesus, forget it. seems awful funny to me the repair shop would wait a month to report him though. If he really is not guilty I would be checking into the repair shop. I work on computers and trust me I would not wait a month. I would call while I had the PC in the shop.

you know your right, I remember watching Court TV and they had a thing, where a couple brought thier film into a 1 hour phot place, and it had some pics of the daughter in unnatural ways witht he father.

the clerk called the local police, and the police called the FBI, they were there to greet the couple when they came back for the film.

I remember them saying that it was good the clerk did what he did and not waited, cause if he waited there would be no evidence

and how come that they reported him? isnt that a private property??? and why did they look through his pics? he brought his pc in 4 a repair... usually smthing s wrong with hardware - replace it, or u just reinstall the OS. u dont need 2 look through some1s documents, photos and stuff...... that s just not profesional! i d sue them!

for what i can understand he brought his pc in cus it was slow.. so every computer shop is gonna search for spyware strange programs and other stuff that aint needed. and if the hd is so full its slowing the comp down you just search for the biggest folder so you can advise the customer to move that or burn on cd or anything.

not even half the times somebody comes to the store its about hardware. half the time its about programs not working as they should. or they have a crapload of virusses and spyware stuff installed they can't get rid off. or their pc is just slow.

That happened to a friend of mine. He was funning an fserve on IRC and someone wanted a movie form him. Although needingcredits they upped 100's of kiddie porn.
he wasnt able to get to his machine due to weather conditions and the police raided him.
luckily they relized he wasnt an old peder-ass
So.. there is hope.
But if he "doesnt know how it got there" then he is guilty.

Definite possibility. When P2P was first getting going again after the Napster debacle, I downloaded a rar files full of pics that was labelled ex-wife revenge or something like that and it had at least one in there that caused me to fdisk and reformat my secondary storage drive to ensure thay no longer existed on my pc. I think we all have a few that are questionable as to if the girl was 18 or maybe 17 years 10 1/2 months old when they were taken but this was some shit that almost made me puke and I didn't even see but a second of it before I hit the X to close it. But that was one pic out of the 200 I looked at from the rar file. To get thousands like that would mean he is not checking what he downloads at all (especially if it was still there when they raided him a month later).

Face it. He had those there for a reason. Whether it was because he was too lazy to check them or not becomes his problem. I learned quickly to check anything I download once it is complete because even if there is a preview, it doesn't mean what you actually download is the same. Chalk this up as a lesson for yourself. I know you can't abandon your brother in time of need but remember that you can love the sinner and hate the sin without being contradictory. (Sorry if some find that preachy but religion does have a few good things to show us even if those who follow it too closely can be very problematic.)

idk. Is it possable that there is a computer program out there, somthing simular to say, a hijacked homepage, that puts kiddyporn on ur hard drive without u knowing about it? I mean, its possable, in theory.

Also, i do find it hard to believe that over a thousand kiddy porn pics were on his hard drive and he dident know about it. Honestly, how the hell do people get off to kiddy porn in the first place? Its just beyond sick. There children for gods sake. I loose a hard on if a girl on a porn site looks a day under 18.

All of these things are possible but would not constitute a defense in the USA. The crime is possession. They don't technically have to prove anything other than that you had it. Most of the time the DA will have evidence showing intent but that is usually to support another charge. Unless he bought the computer used, he's screwed.

Every dude charged with this says the same thing. He's going to need something more substantive. Chances are he got caught with kiddie porn and needs to see a psych. I know he's your brother dude but I pretty much know what is on my computer.
