Personally, I'm thinking it has to be a prominent figure in teh Roman Empire or Republic, but I can't find anything that would fit. The term "cauliflower ears" seems to refer to wrestlers, but I can't really find anything that fits.

like i said, this is close, but not yet. its not just wrestlers, actually it was fashion among the citizens of a certain state...
