Every now and then people surprise me:

I told you guys about a local radio station that was doing a promotion/contest that featured a breast augmention surgery as a prize to the winner of the contest. Well...the contest was narrowed down to 5 finalists that the general public got to vote on...based on each contestants individual stories and reasons for wanting the surgery. Most of the girls wanted it to male them look and feel better, but one contestant was a male to female transgender and wanted the surgery to look and feel more like she feels inside. Well...I was pleasantly surprised that the general public voted to give the surgery to the transgender girl!

Makes me feel like people really aren't as shallow as they appear, and that such a ridiculous contest actually did a good thing.

I occasionally visit this other forum that has an "Illegal Immigration" subforum, and with very few exceptions, they're the most racist, obnoxious, dumb, xenophobic group of people you'll find outside of a KKK rally.

I'll agree that 99% of the time people are totally douche's, but sometimes you get surprised.

@ RiffRaff - It could be, but 30,000 people voted, so I think its a good chance it was authentic...also its a very young radio station, so the majority of people voting are shallow chicks and their boyfriends. lol
