I saw that earlier. It's not that strange. Lots of people in other countries eat horse. Not saying I'm gonna rush out to the store and buy some though.

I think it's gonna take some time getting used to, if in fact people actually begin marketing horse meat, I don't think to many people will run out and buy some...
Davey45 13 years ago
It does sound strange but really is it all that different from cow or lamb? Still just a farm animal people eat. Also the ban on selling horse meat was only 5 years old so it's not really that huge of a deal.
DEMO 13 years ago
Indeed, and I think if my memory serves me correctly, it was used mostly for making dog food..

Probably. I'm sure some found it's way into hot dogs and slim jim's too.

Lewis, Clark and crew crossed the Rockies almost entirely on horse meat that they traded goods for with the indians. I think it's somewhat common in France. I suspect that the only reason it's such a taboo in many minds can be traced back to the jewish dietary restriction of not eating any animal without cloven hooves that does not chew its cud. We've accepted pork, which is something that can be used for some human body parts, so horses shouldn't be a big deal after a while. Horses have a highly inefficient digestive system, so they are not a good animal for low cost food production. I'm sure the market is just for wild horses and surplus domestic sources and I wouldn't expect to see it as a widespread option.

Hi Boys and the odd girl.
No this isn't a figment of your imagination, I'm really here. I'm sorry I've been absent, I'm gonna try and make more of an effort to have a small presence here once again.
I've missed you guys....even Honda.

You know, I've always wondered about dumb taboos.
For example, why don't we eat people? Like dead people, I mean. We waste all this time and effort to dress them up like dolls and give them a big expensive fancy box to lay in for all of eternity and then we cordon off a big section of town for all the dead people to live in. What the fuck is that all about? Dead people get their own neighborhood?
Fuck that, when someone dies in an auto accident or of a heart attack or something, if they're an organ donor we should harvest the organs and then send the muscle to the Manburger factory.

Actually, that's a lie. I'm just not doing WBW work.
I'm proofreading papers my seemingly illiterate sister wrote for her class.
