This, sadly is not a troll thread, but like, a real deal, for seriousness thread.

I honestly like George Bush. He seems like a nice dude. Like, whenever he used to talk while president, and he would just start to wing it and talk bullshit, I loved it. I thought it was fucking hilarious.

Bush just seems like a normalish amusing guy. The kind of guy if you sat down and the two of you had a beer he would be super polite and accommodating.

Obama seems nice and such, but he seems like he would be kinda stuck up, I mean, I know Bush went to Yale, but I think that was more of a...his dad went to Yale type situation. It seems like his dad had pull, because George Bush doesn't really come off as an intellectual, where as Obama does.

I don't know, I don't agree with like, anything he did as president...and I think he really hurt the United States reputation on a global scale, and he made a lot of mistakes.

But, it's kinda like hating Ralph Wiggum because he at all your paste. It's like, yeah Ralph, I shouldn't have left you alone with the paste in the first place, it's my fault I guess...I should have known better. Then you would mess his hair up a bit and you guys would get on with your day.

I like George Bush, he seems like a nice guy. I can just imagine him when the US invaded Iraq, watching the bombings and going "pew pew" with his finger guns at the screen. Dude is just likeable in my opinion.

Thoughts?

I like him!

He was the as honest as he could be in the office. You could look in his eyes and he never looked away like most politicians do.

He was the real deal! That's my humble opinion.

For me, I have a hard time separating what he did in office from him. Maybe it's an unfair standard, but especially only a few years removed from the Bush presidency, I think it's tough to separate any former president from that individual as a person from that individual as the president.

As a person, I'm sure he's cool shit. But I don't really care if it seems like I could get a beer with the President if he (or she) isn't going to be a good President. It doesn't bother me that Obama comes off as an intellectual because I want an intellectual in office that I feel can handle the kind of problems that come up when you're the President. I mean, I don't want the President to come off as really unlikable, but it isn't all that important to me.

The guy is obviously dumb as a spoon, and I for one would rather the person in charge of the free world, and with his finger over the big red nuke button, have more sense than homer Simpson. The whole Iraq war was for oil, obviously.

Quotes from the great man are as follows

People say, well, do you ever hear any other voices other than, like, a few people? Of course I do."

"I've abandoned free market principles to save the free market system."

"You know, I'm the President during this period of time, but I think when the history of this period is written, people will realize a lot of the decisions that were made on Wall Street took place over a decade or so, before I arrived in President, during I arrived in President."

"I've been in the Bible every day since I've been the president."

"This thaw -- took a while to thaw, it's going to take a while to unthaw." --George W. Bush, on liquidity in the markets

"Anyone engaging in illegal financial transactions will be caught and persecuted."

If I went for a beer with a guy like that, I'd be taking the piss Out of his stupidity.

Obama seems cool. I don't know how he's doing in office, I'm not into politics really, however at least he seems he can string a sentence together,

I like and respect all ex-presidents. No exceptions.

While in office ? That's another question entirely.

Nice guy, patriot, honest... he's all of that. But that's what you want in a next door neighbor or a drinking buddy, not a President. W will remain in history as one of the least intelligent, least effective Presidents ever.

He got us into unnecessary, unfunded war and cut taxes to pay for it. (Yeah, it is just as illogical as it sounds.) He deregulated corporations so they could rape the public. When they failed miserably at their game, he bailed them out with our money. So the money they stole form us was squandered and then we had to pay it back to them again! As a double insult, none of the rich corporations created any jobs so we could earn the money necessary to replace what they stole.

100% of the mess we are in right now is due to Bush II. He presided over eight years of steady decline through dogmatic, bull-headed adherence to failed principles. Those who forget that are liable to elect someone else who does the same things.

Other than that, I like the guy.

Completely agree with Hiproof. I think the vast majority of America's current economic woes can be blamed on the former Bush administration. Obama is going to go down in flames, but his hands have been tied from 8 years of mismanagement before he took office.

Bush might be a good guy, he's got a likable personality, but I also get the impression that he's two faced.

I agree, Bush seems like a pretty cool guy even though he isn't all that bright.

I like to think that Obama gets all Samuel L Jackson when he's not on camera. He's too uptight and I don't buy into to his schtick.

I still think Clinton is to blame for this disaster of an economy though. Between NAFTA and repealing the Glass-Steagall Act he set us up for a short term gain and a long term ass raping.

Sooky, relax a bit on the NAFTA thing. As history played out NAFTA was almost inconsequential since all the work that was to go to Mexico went over the Pacific to China at that time. NAFTA for all of the hollern' turned out to small change indeed.

GS ? Maybe. The change away from it was very badly managed by both parties.

Take away the teleprompter and speech writers and they’re just as dumb as we are. None of them would ever step away from the money and really do what they do for free. President or not they all greedy and if you really want to look at who is to blame for the current economic status you need to look before Bush. He didn’t pass the subpar loans and allow individuals who never should have qualified to purchase 200k homes declare bankruptcy and walk away debt free. That was the real problem and not the entrepreneurial / American way. Let’s get back to that instead of taxing ourselves into oblivion by a government which has no clue and just wants to throw more money at bad money decisions. The real problem lies with the vast majority of people who expect others to take care of them instead of fighting to survive like the past. Regardless of the president the laziness of the average American will never change. If you don’t like Bush great, but don’t bash anyone they all suck and when you compare bad to worse there is no winner.
