I'll just be completely straight forward with you, the majority of McAfee's standard "pro" products are mediocre at best. I used to be a huge proponent of their products, but not anymore. They won't catch nearly what other programs will.


I do however support their enterprise suite. I used that program for years, and never had any problems. However it's expensive if you go out to buy it, and it does tend to be a slight heftier on the system resources.

Im glad you said that, because Im using McAfee Virusscan Enterprise 8.7i (its technically a works machine), it seems to be hot on viruses but not so good at the rogue security tools. And yep agree with everyting else you said. thou would still like a second level of protection.

At home I use zonealarm Extreme Suite when i have to use windows, thou I mostly use Ubuntu.

I run Ubuntu Karmic Koala on my laptop, as well as dual booting the default WinXP. I rarely use the XP install, so I couldn't tell you for sure what I have on there right now.


I think it's the same as what I have on my other computer. I like Comodo Internet Security Suite, takes care of antivirus and firewall. Works a lot like Zone Alarm, but without the problems that had started with the last few versions.

So I went to AVAST. I liked it too but after
