ok, i give up.... here is another game

Sauerbraten (a.k.a. Cube 2)

is a free multiplayer/singleplayer first person shooter, built as a major redesign of the Cube FPS.
Much like the original Cube, the aim of this game is not necessarily to produce the most features & eyecandy possible, but rather to allow map/geometry editing to be done dynamically in-game, to create fun gameplay and an elegant engine.

BVE Train Sim

BVE Trainsim is a FREE Direct 3D Japanese Cab View train driving simulator, made in Japan by Mackoy. It offers a realistic cab view, excellent sound, and very good train physics. My favourite feature is the simulation of sway around curves, rocking whilst braking, and the bump of pointwork and rail joints. As a cab view sim, it doesn't get more realistic than this!

Although originally limited to Japanese routes and trains, there is now extensive English language support, and routes and trains available from just about every continent in the world.

It is one of two Spartasoft entries in the 2003 Independent Games Festival student competition. The game was built from the ground up over the course of three months and runs on Windows using DirectX API's. As you may have guessed, Breakin' Battle is a realistic break dancing simulation.

Daikatana Deathmatch v1.2.1 Free Full Game
John Romero, codesigner of Wolfenstein 3-D, Doom, and Quake, unveils his action masterpiece in Daikatana. Using sidekicks, a supernatural time-traveling sword, and role-playing elements, Romero made the game of his dreams. Whether its the game of your dreams depends on your appreciation of classic action gameplay and your patience with sometimes screwy artificial intelligence. Utilizing id Software's Quake 2 engine (since eclipsed by Quake 3, released last fall), Daikatana's graphics are sharp and serviceable but lack the cutting-edge special effects of recent games.

Gameplay follows the standards set by Romero's Doom and Quake designs and rarely deviates from "shoot first, ask questions later." Daikatana's enormous amount of content offsets its graphical and gameplay shortcomings--there's simply a lot of game to uncover. Players assume the role of Hiro Miyamoto, on a mission to uncover the secrets of a mystical sword called the Daikatana. Over the course of 24 large levels, Hiro travels through four time periods--futuristic Japan, ancient Greece, the Dark Ages, and near future San Francisco--each featuring completely new weapons, artwork, music, and enemies. Many Daikatana levels feature impressive architecture, particularly in the Greek and Dark Ages episodes. However, most of the splendor goes to waste as there isn't much to do besides knocking off a handful of bad guys. Weapons are explosive and plentiful; the variety of weaponry and enemy creatures keeps the action frantic despite the one-dimensional gameplay. Daikatana's one innovation is the inclusion of computer-controlled sidekicks, feisty Mikiko and burly Superfly Johnson, who can accept player commands. Players use the keyboard to issue simple commands such as to attack, get, and retreat.

The sidekicks add to the story line, but weak artificial intelligence often complicates gameplay. It's tough to be a hero when your lackeys accidentally shoot you or have trouble navigating a door. Daikatana's epic single-player game should keep players busy for many hours, and a wide assortment of multiplayer modes, including deathmatch, capture the flag, and cooperative play, extend Daikatana's shelf life even further. Though Daikatana can't possibly live up to the hype, its fast-paced carnage should please old-school first-person shooter fans looking for a modern-age Doom. --Doug Radcliffe Pros: Extensive game covers four distinct time periods Several sections of impressive level architecture, primarily in the Greek episode An intriguing arsenal of weaponry for both single and multiplayer modes The Daikatana gets more powerful the more you use it Cons: Weak enemy and sidekick artificial intelligence Dated graphics and gameplay

Neo Sonic Universe
Review Written By Wierdbeard (www.acid-play.com)
Reviewer Rating: 90%

Neo Sonic Universe is a brilliant clone of Sonic the Hedgehog. I challenge you to tell me the original is better. This is really good!

Neo Sonic Universe features two playing modes. Normal mode, where you play through the different levels, defeat bosses and so on. You can play as Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Shadow or Amy.

Battle Mode enables you to fight against other characters, in other words it's a 2D fighting game.

This game doesn't disappoint, boasting graphics so true to the original you won't know what's going on anymore!

Very nice!

Well, since you did talk about two remake of UFO2000, here is another one.

UFO Alien Invasion (For Linux, Windows and Mac!)

It is the year 2084. You control a secret organisation charged with defending Earth from a brutal alien enemy. Build up your bases, prepare your team, and dive head-first into the fast and flowing turn-based combat.

UFO: ALIEN INVASION is a squad-based tactical strategy game in the tradition of the old X-COM PC games, but with a twist. Our game combines military realism with hard science-fiction and the weirdness of an alien invasion. The carefully constructed turn-based system gives you pin-point control of your squad while maintaining a sense of pace and danger.

Here is the link. It is still beta, but fun as hell.

Neuro-Evolving Robotic Operatives
Is set in a fictional post-apocalyptic world, where robots struggle over the relics of human civilization.
Although it resembles some RTS games, unlike most RTS games NERO consists of two distinct phases of play. In the first phase individual players deploy robots in a 'sandbox' and train them to the desired tactical doctrine. Once a collection of robots has been trained, a second phase of play allows players to pit their robots in a battle against robots trained by some other player, to see how well their training regimens prepared their robots for battle. The training phase is the most innovative aspect of game play in NERO, and is also the most interesting from the perspective of AI research.

RYL 2 Incomplete Union is the sequel to the all time popular RYL (Risk Your Life) War RPG. RYL2 introduces the ability to fight alongside the opposing race as a clan against other clans or guilds. Players will have the chance to build structures and build their own community and village. Some structures have the ability to automatically attack enemy player characters. Each community will have its own sphere of influence where enemy players will be attacked should they wander in too close. RYL 2 also introduces several new vehicles, which can be piloted by players in the game. These include an airship capable of transporting several characters at any one time. Also introduced are siege machines including catapults and battering rams. These can be used to attack opposing guild buildings during guild wars.

Bots is quite an original multiplayer game placed in a futuristic environment. You control a group of robots who are able to destroy anything they tread on.

Gameplay reflects that of other online roleplaying titles, that is, you must get rid of all your enemies in order to raise your experience level and gain special objects. However, Bots is much more fun in the sense that it is you who hit, jump and dodge like in a first-person action game.

Moreover, the fighting arenas are quite small and really intense, so there’s no need to be playing for hours if you want to end a mission. Just a few minutes of frantic fight will be enough to finish off the battle.
