Its rather simple, look at the arrangement. The length of the red triangle is 3 blocks more than the green triangle. Plus the red triangle has an additional block of height on the green triangle.

The shit tourmentet me for a week! I didn´t think the slight difference in the angles was the answer. Very dissapointing.

That space was created by shifting the two interlocked blocks at the bottom. The light green and yellowish block when placed together made a complete retangle. The dimensions is 3 units by 5 units. The green triangle has a length of 5 units, so it fits perfectly on top. But when you shift the yellow block over and down, it creates a gap and increases the size of the yellow and light green box's length by three units, but makes the height decrease by one unit.

Then you switch the triangles positions and it will fit in the same area.
